Bingo. And who did Jesus tell us to stay away from? It sure was not the Apostles was it. Now how can you agree that the Apostles had the power given to them from Jesus, Every power that Jesus himself had, When he said what my Father has given me I now give to you. How can you deny them this power to pass on the same way that Jesus did then. Now we have a problem either Jesus lied or indeed this power has been passed on. You can not have it both ways. Now either the Apostles had the power of the Holy Spirit or they did not. Now if they did, they had the power to pass it on. If they did not have the power to pass it on, then they never had it at all. and Jesus lied to us. Now what will it be here.Much of what Jesus taught was of this nature. He taught on hell and there is not much in Scripture on it. He was the final and fullest revelation of the Father.
The difference is that the Lord Jesus had perfect knowledge and was the God-man. He was incapable of erring. Fallen men are not and the Scriptures warn of false teachers coming into the church to decieve. This is why we must always test all teachings with the written Word of God.
