Can Mary be Sinless and Intercede for you?

That example does seem a little strange to me too.
My point was only that they are obviously without sin, and equally obviously, not God. Being without sin does not equate to being God.
Clearly, the real issue is not whether the Immaculate Conception doctrine makes Mary divine (it doesn’t), but whether it is true.

Hey, MySavior, would you happen to be the old “bornagainman” by any chance? I was just wondering, based on the timing of his departure and your arrival.

Anyway, how can you possibly hope to understand the ancient church unless you study it independently, and using a neutral or, better yet, a Catholic source?

Since this thread is six posts away from euthanasia, how about beginning another in the proper forum, like apologetics?

Christ’s peace.
I would not happen to be 'bornagainman" by any chance! 🙂
I’m not a HE…I’m a SHE! 😉

My one question would be, can we both study the King James version of the Bible, or would that not be considered neutral?

My apologies for where this forum ended up going. I did not mean to derail the original question, if that is what I did.

We as catholics do not use the KJV how about you use the Catholic version. IT would probally be easier for everyone. But Po18 guy I swear you were reading my mind, the same thing came to me. But animals do not have a soul, that is why they are called animals and not humans. But then again there are some humans that act like animals I guess. But anyway sorry no soul for the kitty.

Kitty has a soul - otherwise he would be dead.

But his soul is not a spiritual, rational soul. He isn’t going to go to Heaven (once his body dies, his soul will just go out like a candle being blown out), and he isn’t self-aware.

I don’t think you’re asking the right question.

Ultimately, a translation is an aid to reading the bible – a crucial aid to most of us, since most of us don’t read Greek and Hebrew.

If you want to quote from the KJV, then, personally, I don’t have any problem with that, as long as you don’t imagine that the KJV is some kind of final authority on how to read the passage. In other words, as long as you don’t mind other people comparing it with other translations or looking at the text itself.

Thanks for your participation!
