Can parts of the Bible be proven historically?

We’ve reached a point in history where people don’t believe anything unless it’s documented on video on the evening news. Archaelogy is a science, but the conclusions archaeologists draw from bits of evidence aren’t quite like what you get in experimental sciences like chemistry and physics (which themselves aren’t always as exact as you might think). So no matter how compelling a story you can put together based on documents, artifacts, etc you will always find someone who still won’t believe you. Especially if people are predisposed not to believe the Bible - they will always come up with alternative explanations. Just watch all the documentaries on History Channel. You can always dig up someone who will happily promote some alternative view of history.
