That was a reply to Latin. And light hearted humor.
Oh, I see now you weren’t replying to me.

I agree with you TheLittleLady, no one force a deathbed conversion. Not sure I implied coercion, but, of course, one would not force a deathbed conversion.
Which is something St Francis never said. When I think about what it means to " believe" I wonder about the saying ascribed to Saint Francis by his friends.
" Teach the Gospel, and use words if necessary."
…except that, this notion of “belief” is critical in what the Church proposes. Here’s what the documents are asserting, at least in this particular case (after all, a number of cases and situations have been discussed in this thread):[Ammi’s] question is not about belief. He is asking about people who are fully informed, understand the Gospel, and reject it.
You’re close. It doesn’t look good for someone who accepts the Gospel but refuses to obey it. If you don’t believe (for whatever reason), we cannot say – on an objective basis – that you’re bound for eternal hellfire. (You might be… but it’s a subjective, case-by-case determination.)It doesn’t look good for someone who willfully refuses to believe in the Bible.
You cannot validly pick apart the words in the ‘jargon’ of theology, define the parts, and then presume that your definition is what the term itself means. That kind of extrapolation leads to the kinds of errors you’re demonstrating here. That’s not what ignorance means. Ignorance means unaware.
Yes, that’s what Scripture Teaches, and the Church does not contradict (which you have certainly not demonstrated otherwise).*you heard, understood, but do not believe what you heard? The Church still doesn’t say you’re (necessarily) damned…Ammi seems to have a problem with this last one. It seems – if I understand his arguments properly – that he’s claiming that mere understanding brings with it the responsibility to believe, and therefore, culpability for lack of belief. That’s not what the Church teaches.
Says you.Yes, that’s what Scripture Teaches, and the Church does not contradict (which you have certainly not demonstrated otherwise).
That’s absolutely not true! In fact, St Paul contradicts it explicitly! If one is seeking God, and open to His grace, they cannot reject the Gospel. It’s a contradiction.
I did read it. The point is he knows the answer to his question or at least should know based upon logical premises which formed the question. It is silly to ask it because the answer is IN the question.Oh please, read Ammi’s question and stop rephrasing it for him. Even the Devil believes the Gospel, as Ammi clearly realises. His question is not about belief. He is asking about people who are fully informed, understand the Gospel, and reject it.
Please stop being rude to another poster or you will be flagged.Once again, you make a claim without any reference. Please refrain from this thread! You eat it up with your claims and personal interpretations.
Now you are being rude to me as well. Please stop it.It’s not being rude. He has repeatedly asserted his opinions as facts without providing his sources.
This time it was, “St. Paul explicitly contradicts” that a person who is seeking God, and open to His grace could reject the Gospel!
Provide the Scripture or stop eating up my thread with silly arguement.
