I think this point is a big part of the different understandings.

Can a person know something and not believe it?

I claim the answer is “yes”. If one is given the basic information regarding the seriousness of a sin, they know it, but can reject the information and not enter that information into their category of beliefs. After having been told the truth, disbelief does not diminish culpability.

friardchips?

Hi. I think this is all in the post describing the details of what constitutes mortal sin. I can’t add to it or take away from it. What you have put forward no doubt is in within those guidelines.

After death ,can teenagers end up in Hell?
I mean is that possible if it is ,i found it cruel as they are in a process of growing up ,and they undergo some really difficult changes in the hormones, brain… they tend to be confused ,they are often moody … so is it fair for them to end up there ,as they are not fully developed but influenced by moody emotions and hormones .
Sure they can. But yeah, they also might not be culpable for some of their actions, as is possible with younger children as well as full adults.

For any given teenager who has died, is he/she in hell? Maybe, maybe not. Our God is a God of Justice, and no one goes to hell who does not truly deserve it.

I think there is the danger that we can blame everything on satan but I do think that satan causes and inspires a lot of nasty stuff in society. But to blame everything on him only serves to excuse ourselves. While I think we have to be kind to others, and merciful, and always ready to excuse, make excuses for others even, we also have to be aware of satan, put on the armour of salvation, get involved in spiritual warfare, and be always on our guard. Sin is real but emphasis is key. I think we are on the same page: to warn of the dangers but not play the accuser; be ready to educate, protect and not cast the first stone; to know sin is real but choose to look at the Cross?
I entirely agree. There is little doubt there is satanic evil in the world but in my opinion it is uncommon - with the proviso that small temptations may be the thin end of the wedge which separates us from God.

I think there is much satanic influence. So I guess we draw the line here. But satan only has power if we give it to him, or give in to him. Still, we seem to agree for the most part! 🙂

One thing is certain. God doesn’t allow us to be tempted to such an extent we cannot avoid hell. He always gives us sufficient grace to reach heaven if that is what we truly desire.
