The “Word of God” is more than just the bible. The bible is the “Word of God” written and Jesus is the “Word of God” made flesh. Please correct me if I am wrong, my mind is a bit foggy on details.

Is your question still phrased correctly knowing the true definition of “Word of God”?
 
The Bible is a great book that can enhance someones faith tenfold.
It can also destroy someones faith if they are in doubt of Christianity.

Therefore, I would assume that the Devil does use the Bible when it is convenient for it to do so. I would assume the Devil would use the most doubtful parts of the Bible (thats up to anyones interpretation as to which part is doubtful) to kill faith.
 
in Genesis, the enemy used God’s words and twisted them to his own agenda…to make Eve doubt
 
somewhere in pope benedict XVI’s recent book “jesus of nazareth” he emphatically makes the point that satan may be the greatest of all scripture scholars; this is said in the context of misuses of the historico-critical method of interpreting the Bible. i wish i could find the exact quote in the text but i’m having trouble p(name removed by moderator)ointing it. it’s definitely somewhere in the first four chapters; if i can find it later i’ll post the exact quote.

Yes it is still phrased correctly.
The question I am trying to get answered is related to those who say that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.

I’m not a scholar nor a philosopher not a theologen so I am trying to follow a simple line of reasoning.
So bear with me as I wind my way through some of this.

By the way, don’t worry about having trouble p(name removed by moderator)ointing things. I’m terrible at it - even when it’s trying to find something I read in the bible and already broken down chapter and verse.🤷

Inerrent or not, Satan and his minions continue to attempt to deceive us with half truths and inaccurate interpretations of the words used in the Bible. Just like he attempted with Jesus in the desert.

I have a hard time believing that God wanted his Church in such disagreement. I wasn’t intending to p(name removed by moderator)oint Sola Scriptura, but that does make sense.

I could picture Satan dropping such thoughts:
“Why do you need an earthly authority? Don’t believe in that ‘upon this rock’ nonsense. The Catholic Church is wrong. You have the Word of God, and your interpretation is the only one that matters. The Holy Spirit will guide you personally. Don’t worry about the millions of different interpretations that might present themselves. Its okay. The centuries worth of Tradition mean nothing. I know the Gospel of John tells you that Jesus did and said so many more things that the world could not hold the number of books to contain them, John and the other inspired writers got everything into words that you could ever possibly need.”

I believe that Satan has used the Bible by leading millions astray of Christ’s One Church by planting seeds of doubt in their minds about what Christ truly intended when He said Eat My Flesh, etc. By planting those seeds, the evil one pulls them further away from the Truth until they are so far away they are in the grip of evil and living so contrary to what Christ intended, that they fall all the way to hell.

So yes - I do believe Satan uses whatever means necessary to get as many souls to hell as he can. And we all fight this battle daily.

Actually I thought it was a rather intriging Idea. I also wouldn’t necessarily pick on SS per se, but that does seem to be one of the main points of departure and one that has withstood the changing times.
Of course those who adhere to SS would have many reasons why this isn’t so. That would be another discussion altogether.

OK. We’ve established that Satan can twist and use the Bible for his own ends. The question then remains.

Can Satan use the Word of God to further his own agenda?

i believe he does…like i said before, he starte dthat garbage in the Garden…questioning God

he tried to seperate Adama and Eve from God and possibly each other…then they could not produce godly offspring to further God’s plan (ultimately Christ)
