Easy and not all that interesting. I’m from the Ozarks. Hillbillies are sometimes called “Ridgerunners” because we “run the ridges”, or so it’s said. My yankee wife was the first who ever applied that term to me, in jest, after we first met. She was making fun of my accent, but in a nice way. I didn’t take offense then, and don’t now. It has an almost symbolic meaning for me now; somebody who runs as hard as he can, but tries to stay on the high ground in doing it. Also, you can see more from the ridgetops than you can from the hollows. I do aspire to that.

AJ = My personal name

The Man = Two meanings; I’m Male, and I’m “The Man!” 😉

Inspired by a band named Portugal. The Man. I do not listen to this band though I found the name style to fit with me. I dropped the period, inserted my own name, and thus AJTheMan is born. I use this name on pretty much any forum.

“Son of BenedictXVI” He`s my favourite pope in living memory (born in 1954).

The other meaning: Son of B16 means B-17, the WW2 Flying Fortress bomber, a favourite of bomber crews. It had a reputation for being able to take a pounding, and still making it back home. It seems appropriate on these forums.

In mid January, a poster called me "maam"; lets hope this helps to avoid any repetition.
Quite interesting. Thank you for taking the time to explain, ma’am (I mean sir:o)

You’re wrong, it’s quite interesting and informative. God bless you.

BTW, I didn’t detect any accent.😃

Well nice to meet you, AJTheMan. I use my ‘nick’ on all boards I go to too. I’m getting to old to remember what name I used where. Thanks for sharing and God bless.

Still trying to work mine out,
guess it will take a life time.

Or maybe it is more important what it means to you?

“I will be what I will be”, you have free will so choose who you see

Cleverness and originality are not my strong suits. :o

Mine is from the poem of the same name by Paul Gallico. I don’t remember all of it, but it starts:

There is a hole in Misery’s fence…

Miz
I pray soon you will be with the best of companions and you find your selves on the joyous side of the fence.

I look at all your nicks and most have me scratching my head.

Anyone care to share what their nicks mean and why you chose it?

I’ll share mine in another post.

Hi Dokimas,

Feel like sharing what your nick means and why you chose it?

Jean

My passion in life although arthritis is beginning to take its toll.

I really preferred my earlier name NotTooSmart though.

My real first name is the same as the female protagonist in Peter Pan, a name which Sir James Barrie made up for the story. Peter would call her’ The Wendy Lady,’ so my first online moniker was wendylady26. On another forum years ago, they changed their software and everyone had to re-register, so I became Pixie Dust.

Mine is my daughter’s second name and my pseudonym of choice on discussion boards. I gave up using my real name a couple of years ago because of the nature of internet discussion.

Debated posting this or not, but it’s not like it’s not easy to figure out for someone paying close attention… Mine is my good old First initial last name, Carlo Razzeto.

Pleased to meet y’all, Peruvian/Italian at your service, that makes you Catholic by default lol

JakaSaki was the name of my Japanese Akita who passed away a few years back.

JakaSaki also had a brother, KumaSaki and a female Akita, girlfriend for my 2 boys 😉 by the name of NikkiBear.

All three of my Akitas are in Rainbow Bridge now and they were the love of my life.

Problem is my perception is often clouded by things that may lead me to wrong conclusions. I’d rather get to know you through your eyes. They know you better.

Neat; thanks. God bless.

One of my favorite ideas is ‘why reinvent the wheel?’ Works for you then it works for us. God bless you.
