I look at all your nicks and most have me scratching my head.

Anyone care to share what their nicks mean and why you chose it?

I’ll share mine in another post.

Hi Dokimas,

Feel like sharing what your nick means and why you chose it?

Jean

My is the Greek word which means ‘tried, tested.’

My daughters played basketball for a Christian high school. As they’d break a huddle, instead of saying things like ‘team’ or ‘win’ or something else, they’s say ‘dokimas’.

My real first name is the same as the female protagonist in Peter Pan, a name which Sir James Barrie made up for the story. Peter would call her’ The Wendy Lady,’ so my first online moniker was wendylady26. On another forum years ago, they changed their software and everyone had to re-register, so I became Pixie Dust.
I love finding out these little tid-bits about people like you, Pixie. Thank you for take the time to share. God bless.

Mine is old dutch surname in it’s original spelling.

I visit many Muslim forums and have different “nicks” on every single one of them!

GREAT THREAD!

Mine is my daughter’s second name and my pseudonym of choice on discussion boards. I gave up using my real name a couple of years ago because of the nature of internet discussion.

Thank you and God bless.

Sure is scary using your real name in the kind of world that we live in. Contrary to what I learned in 10 grade bio, evolutions isn’t making things better. In fact it’s getting worse and worse and worse. Eventually I suppose we’ll be poised for a one world government for the anti-christ to rule.

Debated posting this or not, but it’s not like it’s not easy to figure out for someone paying close attention… Mine is my good old First initial last name, Carlo Razzeto.

Pleased to meet y’all, Peruvian/Italian at your service, that makes you Catholic by default lol
Nice to meet you too, Carlo. God bless you. Thank you for sharing.

JakaSaki was the name of my Japanese Akita who passed away a few years back.

JakaSaki also had a brother, KumaSaki and a female Akita, girlfriend for my 2 boys 😉 by the name of NikkiBear.

All three of my Akitas are in Rainbow Bridge now and they were the love of my life.
A dog lover. Akitas are beautiful dogs. Nice to meet you, Jaka. God bless you and thank you for sharing.

GREAT THREAD!

What does it mean? I couldn’t find it’s meaning. Thanks for sharing and God bless.

Thanks too for the encouragement.

I have wanted to start this very thread for quite some time now, just never got around to it. I should at least get some credit for thinking of it first though!!🙂

My nickname is one that evolved over the years. My father always used to call me Taya (pronounced “tie-a”) as a child. Truth be told, I absolutely HATED that nickname. After a while, it changed to Taye (pronounced “tie”). Sounds a whole lot nicer, after changing just one letter! My real name is Tanya.

My name is the name of my patron saint, Mary Magdalene or Mary of Magdala or Mary Magdala. She is known by several names. Partly chosen because her name was Mary as is mine, mostly because we shared life histories…

She was a follower of Jesus, saved from her sinful ways and lived as a repentent. She was an important part of the early church. Depending on when you hear her story first: I was a teen in the 1960"s, she was the repentent woman who broke the alabaster jar of perfume over Jesus’ feet just prior to His death. She may also have had seven demons driven from her. She followed Him through out his ministry, was present at His death, and was the first to see He had risen.

Obviously, I identify with her whole story.
👋 She is also my patron saint.
St. Mary Magdalene, you came with springing tears to the spring of mercy, Christ; from Him your burning thirst was abundantly refreshed through Him your sins were forgiven; by Him your bitter sorrow was consoled.
Code:
My dearest lady, well you know by your own life how a sinful soul can be reconciled with its Creator, what counsel a soul in misery needs, what medicine will restore the sick to health. It is enough for us to understand, dear friend of God, to whom were many sins forgiven, because she loved much.

Problem is my perception is often clouded by things that may lead me to wrong conclusions. I’d rather get to know you through your eyes. They know you better.
Amen face to face is where we belong.

Dont know if this helps but on CAF respond to what is posted not what we assume.

Of course for those who post assumptions of you, pray and assume in Spirit for them as best u can.

Thats my aspiration any way living it gets better over time.

Pray well

Taye (Tanya) you’re welcome to all the credit for this thread. Thanks for sharing your ‘nick’. God bless you.

Indeed a BIG dog lover. 😃 And May God Bless you and all my dear friend in Christ.

After JakaSaki, KumaSaki & NikkiBear died, I rescued 2 more dogs from the shelters.

One from New York and the other from Connecticut.

Another male Akita, 😃 and a female Rotti/Lab mix.

Best regards
Pam

Must you always post in riddles???

The OP just wants to know about your profile name. It’s a simple inquiry!!

Sorry yes i thought when i signed up we were supposed to tell the truth and did not know i could hide behind a “nick”.

I figured it obvious, sorry for the riddle did not mean it to be a riddle thought it was a big picture question.

The name is one of the many nicknames I picked up over the years. The numbers represent my old softball uniform number. I tried playing again last year at 52, but I ended up pulling a groin muscle. Although I can still hit, it’s kind of hard to play when you can’t run. 😃

Thanks for giving this thread new life. God bless you.

Our youngest daughter (and child for that matter, youngest of two daughters - and children for that matter) uses as her number with her nicks the number she wore in high school (a private Christian school) sports.

If you can get through all that wording to undetstand me, your doing well and very much alive.

Mine is for my work–I am a fund raiser for the diocesan Appeal.

T More= Thomas More. I would watch this movie as a child with my mother and always admired the story, albeit “Hollywooded up”, of how More stood up for his beliefs. Brilliantly portrayed by Paul Scofield.
