That’s beautiful, @TheLittleLady.

The funny thing in my journey to the Church was, beyond Our Lady through her Rosary; was Sola Scriptura.

When I started to read the Bible for myself; the more I read, the more the Church made sense.

So, when you apply Sola Scriptura to Protestantism; an interesting thing happens. Hehehe

As for how you described Billy Graham’s modus operandi of his revivals; it’s a beautiful thing. He showed a great deal of respect and I deeply respect his no poaching attitude.

When I engaged my family’s ELCA pastor in some doctrinal questions; he immediately went straight into trying to convert me. Grrr.

Archbishop Fulton J Sheen and Billy Graham were friends.
Of course they were. No doubt Billy was influenced by Fulton. And they were both in pretty much the same business. Archbishop Sheen was also a man of the world and had friends in all sorts of religions. Some of them, he converted.

although I feel like I may be getting only catholic bias, which might lead to blind-faith which I want to avoid.
I’m like that too, I want to read all that I can about Jesus and understanding how to live by His will and not my own.

I usually ask people I trust to recommend books… Max Lucado, writes inspirational books about Jesus and why He did what He did… he was an author my mom. (yea…talk about being bias…lol) but my point is that’s usually the best way to go.

I also see how much an authors writing references the bible not just their opinion, that’s a key element… and it doesn’t hurt to research the author.

and then I try to trust my prayer, if its something God wants me to read, the book will be interesting enough for me to read it, if not my interest in it will die… I trust that’s God telling me something.

If you find anything good, let me know… A Case for Faith by Lee Strobel was good as well as A Case for Christ. Max Lucado I read a very very very long time ago so I can’t tell you any titles I liked, but I do remember I did enjoy his books.
