We are dealing with 2 different Latin words being translated “men”.
Of course, that should not even matter. Roma locuta est, causa finita est.The Catholic Church has spoken on this issue (repeatedly). It is not permitted.
Abuse of the Liturgy is grave matter. The Church has repeatedly spoken on this matter so your pastor most likely has full knowledge (and you definitely do now). Add in full consent of the will and you have mortal sin.
Also the Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them:
** - by participating directly and voluntarily in them; **
** - by ordering, advising, praising, or approving them**;
** - by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so; **
** - by protecting evil-doers. **
CCC 1868 (emphasis mine)
Compare that to your above statement:
I thank God my parish performs this ceremony without discrimination.
Care to retract anything?
God bless,
