I just read that 20 % of brides-to-be who were interviewed said they were not attracted to him when they first met.šŸæ I know this smiley makes no sense-I just liked it.

Actually, I’m praying for God’s Will in regards to me and someone. Pray for that guys, if you don’t mind. Mostly, pray for my friend and also for my sister who both lost their faith. Pray God brings them to the fullest grace and glory in heaven His Will would plan.
THks
You guys’ intentions will be in my prayers too.:amen:

Put your intentions in the St. Monica, Pray for Us sticky at the top of this forum. It’s for lapsed Catholics, unbelievers, people who need to return to the Lord.

I’ll be praying for you.

I met a man (online) who is amazing - extremely devout Catholic, sweet, thoughtful, kind, funny, smart…

We talked for several months for HOURS every day - on the phone, via chat, text, even video chat.

Finally met in person and I felt no chemistry 😦 I’m so disappointed and am wondering if that is something I can pray for. Can I pray for God to give me attraction and chemistry toward someone? Can I pray for God to make me fall in love with him?

Does anyone have experience with someone where you felt no attraction or chemistry initially, but then eventually it came because you prayed for it?
Sorry, I only have experience being the man in that kind of scenario. šŸ˜‰

On a more serious note, don’t force it. Attraction is largely unpredictable and in some ways it can be inexplicable. It, or the absence of it.

And don’t get into a relationship just because you feel you owe it to somebody. Both of you deserve something better.

Women are less front-loaded than men. Men generally tend to know right away if they are attracted, especially physically. With women, things are much more complicated.

I wrote something similar to this about a man I know
ā€œWhen I first knew you, I thought that you’d been assigned to me. And I thought, I’m glad they didn’t assign me someone really good-looking, like James, cause that would be awkward.
But after you get to know someone, they start to look beautiful. And then, you see how their whole personality shines through their face. And after a long time, it’s not even their personality characteristics, or their looks, (which are separate components that theoretically could exist in another); it’s just them, that you see.ā€

The point of this is, what you feel initially, might not be what you will always feel.
Yes, it’s fine to pray to God for anything. The best prayer is ā€œWhatever Your Will may be,that’s what I ask for.ā€

Dear Friend,

You can always pray to help God find you someone that is made for you and vice versa. I would never trust anyone on the internet. Bad things have happened that way.

Love ya’ll,
Sheila

You can pray for it, but if you keep your heart centered and opened to Christ, everything will fall together in His time.

And I am glad to hear about those who didn’t feel ā€œsparksā€ initially with their significant other…but that those feelings came later. I’m hopeful that is what will happen with us (if it is God’s will for us to be together, of course)
I felt zero attraction towards my fiancee when I met him and I am quite glad it happened that way because I had a very clear head to get to really know him. I was able to meet him as a friend and as a human being and because I didn’t have that spark, I had no high or unrealistic expectations, no hormones interfering with clear judgment, no rush, no lies or fake personalities to ā€œmake the other one fall for meā€, nothing. I was able to take my time to really learn everything about him from how he faced problems to what he likes and dislikes and analyze it and make a good judgment about us. Once I heard a priest saying, love is not a feeling love is a decision. I cannot agree more with that statement. I loved him later when I finally knew him because of who he was and I am so happy that was the way it was.

You can pray for whatever you wish. Sometimes, as we got to know another person, the attraction comes. To me there appears to be three elements that are important: a spiritual connection in faith; an intellectual attraction; and thirdly a sexual attraction.

Iforgot to add: Why not pray for God to bring a special person into your life that God knows is good for you?
