Can you tell what people are like by the way they appear to you?

I would say that you should not read a book by it’s cover. But have you ever been right about what somebody is like based on their appearance?

Not at all. I’ve been on the receiving end where my character was assessed this way, and it kind of hurt. I wouldn’t want to do it to someone else.

When people are extreme in their appearance, be it dress, facial and body expression, language, or any other out of the ordinary behavior, it is certainly right to make an internal judgment about the situation. For instance, if someone is swearing at you and threatening your person, it is best to make a judgment. As to what an earlier poster said about allowing someone to prove themselves, to not judge a book by its cover, that is good advice before making a permanent judgment about a person and how you will relate to them in the future.
Have I ever been right about someone based on their appearance. Many times. Have I been wrong, a few and looking back I regret I wasn’t more patient in my evaluation of them and the situation.

I know if I yes, I’ll be attacked. Or argued with. I think you can tell someones character by the way they carry themselves and what they select to wear. What facial expressions they generally have on their face.
I could be wrong. If someone looks angry or annoyed most of the time, I’ll choose to avoid. Sure they could be a wonderful person.

If someone is being a grump, I understand. What I had more in mind is superficial things. Like assuming a “metalhead” or biker is evil or something. That’s unfair.

I’m like Sherlock Holmes. I can deduce incredible things by merely looking at you.

You mean like assuming someone’s a gangsta based on their clothing.

I think you can deduce some things about people by what they choose to wear.

Also, this:

Sure you can tell things about people by how they choose to dress or act or who they associate with

This is not jlo picture. It’s a gyspy pirate

Maybe if you have the opportunity to observe them over time in certain situations, but if you only have a moment to look at them, you can’t really make any assumptions about a person’s character because of their facial expressions and certainly not because of what they are wearing! I mean, you can, but they won’t be accurate.

Yes, I think you can. Except I’ve been wrong more than once. So maybe the answer is no.

I forgive you for being wrong about me. It’s not your fault. I’m an eternal enigma 😉
