Either has its advantages. I prefer at the end because:Do you do the Confession before or after the SD session, if you do not mind me asking. Is there a a better choice to do it either after or before the session?
a) something might have come up during the session which I hadn’t considered before but which I would like to confess
b) in the case of particular sins, I don’t have to go into all the circumstances twice. I can talk about them in the SD session and then in confession just say ‘I did x’ without having to detail the particulars again.
OTOH, the main advantage of confessing first is that if (like me) you like to more or less memorise what you’re going to say in confession, you can have that ready just before the session and go. I find that when I try to remember my examination of conscience at the end I sometimes forget something.
