I’m wondering if Rubio dropping out would be the better route for those who want to stop Trump. Do you think as many Cruz voters would be as likely to go to Rubio as Rubio’s would to Cruz? Or do you see a scenario where some Cruz voters would actually go with Trump?

Murmurings are that Marco may consider getting out. I don’t want to say unfounded rumors. I have seen in a few places, mentioning cancelling an event in Louisiana and possibly Kentucky too. He did not seems that enthusiastic tonight. One of the articles indicate he may well throw his support to Cruz.
But maybe it’s wrong, it certainly does appear that he has lost steam.

Where have you heard that? Perhaps he is going to team up with Cruz? Rubio had a cold or something. Did you notice his voice during the debate? He didn’t even shake hands properly at the end of the debate because of it I read.

In any other election cycle, Rubio would have been punted to the curb by now. The establishment is deeply frustrated but doesn’t have unions to ‘get out the vote’ for their designated candidate. I expect they will settle on Cruz soon, as their last hope to beat Trump.

Some websites though, are just not considered credible, not even Politico actually is considered that way.

I heard that Rubio said today Trump is the most vulgar candidate to ever seek the Presidency and was also in KS which holds a caucus tomorrow before an audience of voters asking if they want to have to cover their kids’ ears the next 4 yrs. I’m not sure that sounds like he will drop out unless he fails to win his homestate of FL in 11 more days.

It doesn’t look good for Rubio in Florida, and as Florida goes so goes Rubio’s chances of the nomination. And he’s only won one state so far. But he’s young and has time. Maybe he’ll be more seasoned and do better next election cycle. At present, he seems too immature, not vulgar, just immature for the presidency.

Right now the main polls may have him down but he may overperform the polls and eek out a win. He overperformed many polls on Super Tuesday. If he does end up dropping out, I hope he would run for Governor in Florida after Rick Scott’s term is up.
Rubio may have only won one state, but Kasich hasn’t won any yet and he’s likely staying in the race until at least Ohio, and Kasich seems to see a path through a brokered convention so…

Florida is like Trump’s second home, I don’t think Rubio can beat him.
Rubio ran to young and needs more maturity, which a term or two as Gov might give him.

I will say that I don’t believe Rubio will win Florida. I think it’ll be Trump. Surely there’s some outsider among the Republicans who would have been better than Trump.

I don’t think Rubio will ever make it. Remember he hasn’t really been vetted. His credit card issues among other things haven’t been brought to the fore.

I don’t know if this has been brought up before since I’ve been poking in and out, but I learned that Rubio is only five months younger than Cruz. Unless by “too young,” you mean “too inexperienced.”

Even if he doesn’t win Florida, Rubio could still be the nominee through a brokered convention, and it is entirely possible there could be a brokered convention. 34% of Republicans have voted for Donald Trump. A brokered convention could finally provide the opportunity for consolidation behind one candidate that isn’t Trump.

Yes, he needs to build a record as a Gov, his senate record is quite weak.
It’s not just an age thing. Rubio is the GOP Obama, an unblemished bright shinny object that really hasn’t done much beyond the State house.
Love him or hate him, Cruz has shown more leadership, he’s been much more of a force in the US Senate.
