What do you mean what happens?

If it is known that the child was validly baptised with water in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit then nothing happens. The child will be brought in the Catholic faith and when the time comes will be confirmed.

Exactly! As long as they have been validly baptized, then they are to be brought up normally.

From another thread, so I think this is the actual question, OP?
How does the law determine membership in a Church sui iuris as a result of Baptism?
Which Canon Number?

Thanks and God Bless

The child has been Christianized. I’m not sure of the process involved in becoming Catholic. Perhaps that is covered as one of the terms in the adoption process, but I’m guessing.

FWIW, these are Canon Laws covering baptisms.

Find out about the baptism, and if it was from a Christian community that has valid baptisms, because some do not. Here are some that are invalid:

Universalists and Unitarians
Jehovah’s Witnesses
Pentecostal
Latter Day Saints (Mormon)
Salvation Army (dedication)
Adventist (dedication), but Adventist baptism is good (usually age 13)
Christadelphians
Christian Scientist
Church of Divine Science
Bohemian Free Thinkers
