I see you are from Montreal, Free Spirit; didn’t the Sisters Adorers’ monastery there close recently? That was one of Mother’s early foundations, if I recall. I know that there haven’t been many vocations up in Canada. I think the nuns from Montreal were transferred to the Motherhouse in St-Hyacinth, where Mother Catherine Aurelia was born and where she died.

I read a biography of her in the mid-1990s. I found it on a bookshelf in a house I was staying at in New Jersey.

Thanks for the info ! Indeed, a monastery closed a few years ago in Montreal. The building is still up, very beautiful from outside. I also heard that some sisters had moved further north in Amos, if my memory is correct.

I have been praying a prayer to her for a long time myself. I have 2 books on her - bios - I got from the sisters.

I wish there was at least one community that still wore the full traditional habit of Mother Catherine. It’s a shame the habit of this order has been modified so much.

As there are many “traditional” vocations and many traditional orders are getting vocations, I wonder if one or more did revert back to the full traditional habit of Mother Catherine if they would get more vocations?
 
mystica I don’t mean to disrupt your post and I don’t mean to be “negative” in away but I did contacted Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood asking about if we should Pray for Mother Catherine Aurelia’s Canonization or Beatification? I sent them an email on Sept.29th, 2011, Thursday

Blessings! Thank you for your very good message and insightful question regarding the desire behind the prayer on-line about our Holy Foundress, Mother Catherine Aurelia Caouette.

The road to Canonization involves a process of several steps, and most of these steps follow a particular order. Mother Foundress is now known as a “Servant of God”, and her heroic virtues have been studied and acknowledged. The next step which is being pursued is to present an authentic miracle due to her prayers and, once approved, seek her Beatification. This step is necessary in order for a person to be considered for Canonization - the final part of the process of being recognized by Holy Mother Church as a Saint. We pray for Beatification so she will be Canonized at last.

Your welcome mystica but I don’t really deserve any credit and it wasn’t necessarily me who mentioned that we should Pray for Mother Catherine Aurelia’s Beatification first I was just making sure. :o Yes, I will keep your intentions in my Prayers as well. Not that it’s any of my business (and of course you don’t have to answer) but have you considered Religious life with the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood?
