Can't Satan read the Bible?

After the death of her husband in Iraq, my daughter became an atheist. It overwhelms your soul w pain. Satan is roaming the earth, seeking the destruction of souls. He wins, more than he should. Put on the whole armor of God. The WORD OF GOD, DOES NOT RETURN VOID…

Following is something I wonder about Satan. Hasn’t Christianity, by publishing the Book of Revelation, told Satan exactly what is to come

Not only can satan read the Bible, he knows it perfectly. Satan knows every letter of every book in every language ever spoken by man…

IMO, satan is not omniscient (in that he doesn’t know the thought of every individual human or of God) but from a human perspective he is very close to omniscient. Satan has perfect knowledge of every piece of human knowledge ever discovered or written by every human who ever lived…

There are only 3 people in all of creation more powerful or knowledgeable than Satan - King Jesus, Queen Mary, and Prince Michael. As far as I’m aware, these are the only 3 people in existence who have direct authority/power over satan. (Note I said DIRECT power. Exorcists, and in fact every Christian has a greater or lesser degree of power over satan, but only because of Jesus.)

Amen, God’s words do not return void! I can understand your daughter’s pain and will keep her in my prayers. When I pray and soak up the time near the Holy Eucharist it brings me peace but also, that time of prayer helps me get through the day. You really would be amazed at the difference in me.

Your daughter will eventually turn back toward God because His Spirit penetrates (as the apostle tells us, Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and effectual, and more piercing than any two edged sword; and reaching unto the division of the soul and the spirit, of the joints also and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.)

Remember these words and keep them close in thought when you pray to God for your daughter,“Fortunately, we are not without hope. The redeeming love of God can do what we can’t. God’s love is not stymied in the same way as is ours. Unlike our own, it can go through locked doors and enter closed, frightened, bruised, lonely places and breathe out peace, freedom, and new life there.”

This was a rough weekend for me but i said my prayers and went to church. Maturity in faith is one who “must believe and trust” in God and we must build on that foundation. Letting God inside is like a lock door.

I think of the Garden of Eden when he asked Eve, "He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

How did he know, was it written down? Don’t forget about what evil hears.

That’s an interesting question.
I don’t know if Satan would have much interest in the Bible as even for us our understanding is so limited to the truth of God , scripture is just a way for humanity to grasp it in terms they can somehow perceive. Once you are in the afterlife the truth is all revealed. This is just my opinion. I would say Satan has known the plan since the creation. He was one of Gods greatest Archangels before the fall. He fell in spite of all of the deadly sins. He is ignorant and arrogant to Gods will. However he is well aware of what is coming but pride makes him oblivious to the truth of what that means. That is my opinion. Very interesting question.

When reading the book of Job, the evil one appeared with the sons of God. Some say that God diverted him away from something major.

Since God is holy and absolutely without sin (Isaiah 6:3), and since He will not even look on evil (Habakkuk 1:13), how can Satan be in heaven? The answer involves God’s sovereign restraint of sin. In Job 1, Satan stood before God to give an account of himself. God initiated the meeting, led the proceedings, and remained in absolute control (verse 7). The result was that Satan’s power was limited (verse 12) and God was glorified.

Job never lost his faith in God, even under the most heartbreaking circumstances that tested him to his core. It’s hard to imagine losing everything we own in one day—property, possessions, and even children. Most men would sink into depression and perhaps even become suicidal after such massive loss. Though depressed enough to curse the day of his birth (Job 3:1–26), Job never cursed God (Job 2:9–10) nor did he waver in his understanding that God was still in control. Job’s three friends, on the other hand, instead of comforting him, gave him bad advice and even accused him of committing sins so grievous that God was punishing him with misery. Job knew God well enough to know that He did not work that way; in fact, he had such an intimate, personal relationship with Him that he was able to say, “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face” (Job 13:15)

The statement was said that “Satan” knows scripture. We know that when Jesus went out into the desert he was tempted by the devil. There were three trials that Jesus had to overcome. How many times did God allow Satan to tempt Job in the Bible? Two times.

The first temptation concerns the lust of the flesh (Matthew 4:3–4). Our Lord is hungry, and the devil tempts Him to convert stones into bread, but He replies with Scripture, quoting Deuteronomy 8:3. The second temptation concerns the pride of life (Matthew 4:5–7), and here the devil uses a verse of Scripture (Psalm 91:11–12), but the Lord replies again with Scripture to the contrary (Deuteronomy 6:16), stating that it is wrong for Him to abuse His own powers. The third temptation concerns the lust of the eyes (Matthew 4:8–10), and if any quick route to the Messiahship could be attained, bypassing the passion and crucifixion for which He had originally come, this was the way. The devil already had control over the kingdoms of the world (Ephesians 2:2)

The question being is what was the sufficient of the cross and who did Jesus save? All things were put under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church- restorations/redemption. But also, with Job, God then ends this book by blessing Job with double the wealth! This ending really says a lot about the the fairness of God…even if we suffer terribly for a season in this life.

The same with our Lord at the Garden of Gethsemane, when Jesus was obedient to God’s plan. And, like Our Blessed Mother said - May it be done to me according to your word. Only Jesus said,
Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done."

Same verbiage, as both Mary and Jesus were obedient to God’s divine plan. St Joseph protected them by listening to God and took them into Egypt. As Exodus puts this, " God heard their moaning and God was mindful of his covenant(http://www.usccb.org/bible/exodus/2#02002024-h) with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.25God saw the Israelites, and God knew….*

Faced by Temptations and the dangers of Life, the psalmist is aware that he needs help. Where is help to be found?The only help is from God, and the only reason he can hope for God’s help is that God has promised to help him, as he indicates and verse 38: “fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.”

What promise is this? There is no reason to think he is singling out anyone promise. Rather he is thinking of the entire word of God, as he has been doing all along. The noun translated “promise” here is actually one of the Hebrew terms for “word” ('mra) sometimes translated “as saying” since it comes from the verb “to say”. The King James Version and the Revised Version translate it as “word” throughout. The Jerusalem and the New England Bibles use “promise”.

The revision Standard Version has a combination of the two. The reason for the choice of 'mra here is that the psalmist knows if he is to complete his course of study, he will have to live by God’s word at all times and in all its parts, not picking and choosing, as it were. This verse is a perfect Old Testament expression of what Jesus said to Satan when he was tempted by him to turn stone into bread. He told him, “Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew chapter 4:4 cf. Deut 8:3)
