Jack I am a Baptist. I doubt anyone will scream at you… likely all will be glad you came, even though you both disagree on points. If friction arises, I would focus on what you and Baptists agree on. Be a peacemaker.
The Wesboro Baptist Church is rather unique, I don’t think there is any other organization which spreads its message of hate for homosexuals through incest (there are only two families who are part of the church, and they don’t marry outside the group…)
as long as its a carwash and not a date, you should be fine. other people can say your paranoid, but…if they find out your Catholic, and its just one visit there, then you should have nothing to worry about. if you start hanging out with these folks though, you may want to be prepared to defend your faith. it usually takes 2 or three visits with these folks before they start trying to bring the Mary “worship” topic up. thats my experience, and i usually dont have a choice, i work with some from time to time. so feel free to wash your car. now go take on the day…lol! jon jon jon. why are you fibbing to the guy? you know the young lady is attempting to consume his soul! first a car wash then dinner then " do you want to go to church" then " my pastor would love to talk with you sometime" lol! then “oooh my mother would just love to meet you.” then we get a thread like some weve had, because the two are getting serious and are experiencing problems in their relationship due to their respective faiths. ok im being a little extreme. but you have to admit, this little scenario is entertaining.

I think you’re being a tad bit paranoid. If you were invited by a Muslim friend to help out with a car wash at the mosque, would you think they were going to videotape your head getting cut off and put it on the internet? Probably not.
They are probably going to…get ready for this one…wash your car. They want to raise money for something. Ask what that ‘something’ is, and if you approve, go get your car washed. Shoot, if you approve, go help them wash cars!
Well I am a person who likes to take chances,so I would go. Look at it as a way to promote inter-faith relations with our separated brothers and sisters.
