Satan is hurling at God “the ultimate and terrible challenge,” to show he is capable of constructing an “anti-creation” that mankind will be deceived into thinking is better than what God has created, Cardinal Carlo Caffarra has warned.
The archbishop emeritus of Bologna said this decisive confrontation is taking place now, and is being fought primarily over marriage and the family — a prediction Sister Lucia made in a letter the Fatima visionary sent to him over 30 years ago.

God Bless Cardinal Caffara’s witness to the faith. Certainly another Catholic who hasn’t lost his “salt” in the face of today’s society.
AMEN and it’s time us lay Catholics wake up and see the handwriting on the wall before it’s to late for our families. God Bless, Memaw

Very much so, indeed… I am thankful that Cardinal Caffara highlighted the fact that Satan has been actively pursuing and advancing his agenda via the “culture of lie”, the de-construction of God’s creation, and the attacks on marriage and the families. Satan is real–not a scary fiction. This is a very, very serious matter. The Catholic Church, firmly anchored on Christ and the Magisterium, is the only institution on earth that explicitly fights against Satan.

Amidst all the bad news and all the clever manipulations going on in the Church, my heart, my soul and my mind are comforted when I hear beautiful words of faith and wisdom from Cardinal Caffara, Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Sarah, Cardinal Burke, Cardinal Meisner, Cardinal Brandmuller and Bishop Schneider.

I pray for their continued steadfastness and perseverance to stand up and speak for Christ and for the Magisterium. May our Lord continue to bless them and protect them…

It is noted that you omit Pope Francis from your list of inspirations. He has spoken powerfully with regards to the contemporary manifestations of the Satanic onslaught against mankind. The great majority of Roman Catholics around the world find our pontif to be extremely inspirational. Perhaps you left him off of your list accidentally?

Pope Francis is our Holy father, and is the vicar of Christ on earth. I love, appreciate, honor and support him. His sermons and speeches were quite inspirational and insightful. As a Catholic, I will obey him and pray for him.

The piety of rigging a trap for your brother to get tripped in is very nice by a fellow Catholic such as yourself, admirable indeed…

The second development showing the “culture of the lie” is the “ennoblement of homosexuality,” the cardinal said, which “in fact denies entirely the truth of marriage, the mind of God the Creator with regard to marriage.”
Marriage has a “permanent structure” in the mind of God because the union of man and woman is the “human cooperation in the creative act of God,” Cardinal Caffarra said.

For this reason, the elevation of abortion to a “subjective right” and equating a homosexual relationship to marriage represent the destruction of “two pillars of creation.” 👍

Very profound, and quite reminiscent of something St. John Paul II said several decades prior. I paraphrase: “We are now facing a final confrontation between Church and anti-church, between Gospel and anti-gospel, between Christ and antichrist”.

I would say that the great saint had made a correct reading of the “signs of the times”, hence this state of anxiety which seems to make up the entire atmosphere of planet earth. Palpable tension.

We’re obliged to obey the reigning Pontiff. I don’t think we’re obliged to foster a personal devotion to each and every Pope. We can have favorites… some will resonate with individuals better than others. For the vast majority of Catholic history, the reigning Pope wasn’t an inspiration of any kind for most Catholics…what did they know what the Pope in distant Rome was saying? They relied on their local bishop and his priests.

Seamus… Thank you.

Indeed… The words and the teachings of St. John Paul are timeless treasures that will continue to help the Church. I believe that he was also mystic who possessed extraordinary skills and senses to understand the roots of current crises, and to anticipate future crises in the Church and in the world. God gave us, in Karol Wojtyla, a humble servant and a great saint to counter and clarify the mis-applications of Vatican 2. I remember the saint was heavily criticized by many theologians and in the media for his insistence to write the current Catechism, which he wisely chose Cardinal Ratzinger to lead the project. How much are we dependent on the current Catechism now?
