Actions speak louder than words.

Abuse of and desecration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass can never be defended.

Yesterday’s episode of the Vortex addresses why it is so dangerous to “use charity as an excuse for cowardice” - and why it is imperative that we not allow a blind eye to be turned toward brazen sacrilege.

(Voris is explicitly referencing the St. Francis Xavier/Dolan case, so it is on topic.)

How is what Michael Voris is doing anything but detraction?

If I know that my neighbor is in an adulterous relationship, I am not free to spread this thoughout the neighborhood.

Everyone is entitled to their good name. Michael Voris has smeared the good name of the Archbishop. Did he personally speak with the Archbishop to ascertain his motives?

If not, then he is probably making a rash judgement also.

It seems to me that “The Vortex”, is what is spreading scandal.

I live in Indiana, and I only know Archbisop Dolan from what I have seen on EWTN and I had a very positive image of him.

Now after this campaign against the Archbishop, I have very negative thoughts, as I am sure many others do. That is a scandal to me.

**Have you not heard of public sin, which equals public scandal? The pastor, priests, and congregation of SFX are publicly promoting mortal sin. Archbishop Dolan allowed himself to be videotaped presiding over a mockery of a mass - and he’s provided no explanation for his actions. Are you a proponent of the liturgical dancer holding her incense bowl who was there that day? Do you believe priests should not deny communion to publicly pro-abort. politicians. **

Everyone is entitled to their good name. Even when they sully it themselves for all the world to see? **** Michael Voris has smeared the good name of the Archbishop. Did he personally speak with the Archbishop to ascertain his motives? ** He’s made numerous attempts to get a statement from the AB or his office. No response has been received.**

Why should your personal image of someone carry more weight than an objective video where we can all see with our own eyes what is going on? We’re dealing with facts, not feelings.

Now after this campaign against the Archbishop, I have very negative thoughts, as I am sure many others do. That is a scandal to me.Why doesn’t it scandalize you when a retired Cardinal, an Archbishop, a Pastor, and a congregation desecrate Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament?

The so called “public scandal” was only witnessed by those who were present that day.

Now this video has been spread across the country. Was that really necessary BEFORE the Archbishop and Cardinal makes any statements?

Why did not Michael go directly to the Vatican BEFORE he spread this across universe via the internet?

There is a way to report abuses and posting videos on the internet is not one of them.

Yikes. You’re misinformed. St. Francis Xavier parish had the “event” professionally filmed and had it posted on their website’s homepage for weeks.

I really don’t understand what your’re saying Indyann, because this video was made by someone in the parish itself and then another by CNN (or CNN used it). Heck, even the priest was interviewed! Who are the ones who spread the scandal but that church and CNN first?

All that the Vortex did was comment on the video and tried to get straight answers from the Archbishop’s “people” where at first the PR person denied any of it happening (yet we see it happening in the video) and then stopped answering questions when they were caught in their lie.

I have no idea what this ABishop does or his character, but I do see that the church group encourages “Lesbians to feel totally accepted for who she is in relation to her partner” which is another way of saying that she’s totally accepted in her active lesbian lifestyle.

I mentioned in another post that their souls are in peril because even if the priest and his church are “bringing the gay and lesbian back to the sacraments” even if the priest were to have a 1/2 day of confession before they received the Eucharist, their sins would not be forgiven because part of a valid confession has to be contrition… they are then doubling up the sins.

I’m not saying that ALL of the group is active and without contrition, but the message given is that it doesn’t really matter because they are accepted and we see them going up for confession whilst celebrating their disordered sexual behaviours.

I guess I am just naive and out of the loop. I do not watch CNN and have never heard of St. Francis Xavier in NYC.

When the video “Sex, lies, and videotapes” arrived in my mailbox, I was curious. Why would a Catholic organization send such a provocative titled video? So I watched only a part of it.
Frankly, it was disturbing.

In many ways, I wish I had never discovered CAF. I want to go back to believing the Bride of Christ is beautiful. I don’t want to hear about “clown Masses”, “Puppet Masses”,etc.

I am sick of hearing about “priest sex abuse”.

I wish I had never heard about SSPX and the hatred of VatII by some.

Attack! Attack! Attack! From outside the Church and now from inside. It appears to being attacked by supposedly orthodox Catholics.

Sorry for the rant, I am just so disheartened. I want to go back in the bubble, where I thought the Church was beautiful.

But the Church IS beautiful, it’s just that there are sinners within it that have been there since the very beginning… think Judas, and even Peter denied Jesus 3 times. The Church is the Bride of Christ therefore the Church herself is absolutely pure and beautiful.

I know where you’re coming from though because sometimes I feel the same way, and that’s when I have to take a deep breath and remember that we need to pray for the Church (our Holy Mother said as much) because the Church IS being attacked from within and without, but then again Jesus warned us of it from the first as well… but He did promise us that the gates of hell would NOT prevail. You just need to remember that and pray because the devil is working hard to make those gate prevail.

Sometimes I have to stop looking at certain posts for a while, and try to nourish my soul in other areas, and I was like you for a long time… wishing that I’d never known CAF or heard the news on the TV, but then as time went by, I realized that if we don’t find out what’s poisoning our faith and our Church, how can we get rid of the poison?

I really do need to know what’s attacking us in order to do something about it and to defend the Church from those attackers. We can’t be ostriches anymore with our heads in the sand, as much as I wish I could go back to it. Our Church needs our help desperately and the only way we can help her is in defending her and protecting her, and that means finding medicines for the “cancers” within and without.

I have started with praying for all the abusers (not just the sexual ones) of the Church, and for all the victims which is REALLY us, the faithful. I also pray for purity and strength for the Church… and knowing specific situations, I can pray for those situations too. Also, with prayer, there’s actions we need to do by respectfully addressing issues with our clergy from the bottom and if that doesn’t work, we need to go up to the top. So much work!

Keep the Faith 🙂

This thread is closed pending moderator review. There are too many uncharitable remarks toward an Archbishop of the Catholic Church. I will leave it up to the ordinary moderator to decide if the thread should be reopened.

In the meantime, I encourage everyone to think about how they speak to each other and about our bishops. You may disagree, but you may not insinuate or outright make uncharitable statements to each other or about those who are not here to defend themselves.

Finally, please remember that disrespectful comments to or about religious and clergy is prohibitted. People may disagree without being disrespectful.

Thank you for your cooperation
