An allegation of misconduct levelled at Cardinal George Pell while he was in the sacristy at a cathedral could not possibly have happened, a Melbourne court has been told.

Also according to reports a previous accuser is making new charges against Cardinal Pell, though whether these will be brought to court at all, is uncertain.

If these accusations prove untrue, Cardinal Pell should hit back against his accusers with all he’s got. Someone needs to teach false accusers that they can’t get away with it. Otherwise it will keep happening.

It sounds like he is putting on quite a spirited defense.

I’m also not hearing or seeing any “smoking gun” evidence as of yet.

He also agreed that the archbishop’s robes couldn’t be moved to the side or parted in the middle to allow him to reveal his genitals.

Mr Dearing told the court the archbishop’s robes were heavy, difficult to manoeuvre and required another person to help put them on and take them off.
