The cardinal said Catholics still stand for the traditional definition of marriage
Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the most senior Catholic cleric in England and Wales, has said the Church will continue to be “obstinate” about gay marriage and other questions of sexual morality.
Answering questions after a talk at St Ethelburga’s Centre, London, Cardinal Nichols was asked about the Church’s response to homophobia. The cardinal said that society had become more empathetic and compassionate towards gay people, and that he “rejoiced” in the change.

From the article:
Cardinal Nichols went on: “There has never been a time when Christian sexual morality has been totally accepted in any society.” But, he said, Christians would “persist” in being “awkward” on such matters.
Well, that’s a good thing, then.

I don’t see why this need to be discussed constantly, especially when Christianity has actual problems like a declining birthrate and late average marriage age.

On the other hand, having never so much as touched a girl’s hand in a romantic fashion, yet being expected, through taxation, to pay for rakes’ and whores’ “healthcare” needs makes my blood boil and smoke come out of my ears.

Why is it supposedly impossible to be compassionate while still believing homosexuality is inconsistant with church teachings? The legal system has said it isn’t a crime in the western world, I Accept that, why isn’t it enough?

?!?!?

There are also problems with misogyny and anti-Semitism.

It’s so important to you, cough the dough and start your own charity.

NO ONE should be forced by the government to pay for something they don’t want to beyond the legitimate role of the federal government even if they are using not very nice language.
