None, really. “Tridentine” is actually a misnomer since the traditional Missal, in its essentials, dates back to the time of Pope St. Gregory the Great, and not the time of the Council of Trent (whence the name “Tridentine”). The Tridentine Fathers did order a revision of the Missal, which was undertaken under Pope St. Pius V, but this revision was limited largely to purging the Missal of various accretions that had built up over time (introduced from local customs and the like). It was a true restoration, and not a reformation, of the Roman Missal.What is the difference between a TLM and a Tridentine one?
