Cardinal, radical leader clash on civil unions
Jan. 16 (CWNews.com) - Legal recognition of same-sex unions in Italy would “undermine the family,” warned the president of the Pontifical Council for the Family. In reply, a gay-rights proponent charged that the cardinal was seeking to reinstate the Inquisition.
Addressing another political issue that is being hotly disputed in Italy during his year’s campaign season, Cardinal Alfonso Lopez Trujillo characterized the use of the abortion pill RU-486 as “chemical warfare against unborn life.”
In an interview with the Italian daily La Repubblica, Cardinal Lopez Trujillo reacted strongly to the demonstrations staged over the weekend. In Rome, homosexual activists rallied outside St. Peter’s Square in support of a proposal to recognize civil unions, while in Milan feminists organized a march in support of legal abortion, including the use of RU-486. The demonstrations included a strong element of “harassment of the Church,” the cardinal said.

So the homosexualist agenda has now literally marched right up to Peter’s doorstep. I hope this is a wake up call for all of those offices in the Holy See that western society in general is in an identity crisis as in regard to its humanity.*
