Cardinal was in physical relationship with accuser

Christ never promised us a Church free of scandal, only that it would not teach error.Remember that one of the men He chose as a disciple, Judas, betrayed Him, and the man He chose to head His church after his Ascension, St. Peter, denied Him three times. The Church is an instrument of God, but it consists of men; while the message the Church teaches is infallible, it’s members are not.

Still, this matter with Cardinal O’Brien is very sad, especially as he held himself up as an orthodox and conservative prelate… Lets us pray for him and any of the people he hurt.
 
What a disgrace, to himself and the Church. This must be what is meant by a wolf in sheep’s clothing…

I’d really like to know what actual punishment this Cardinal and others like him are given by the Church:confused: or is it something we never get to hear about?

In the old days, public sinners had to do public penance. Time to bring that back into practice!!
