I haven’t really noticed how many non-Catholics get booted off of CAF but what I have noticed is if a non-Catholic is winning an argument on a particular thread that thread will inevitably get locked. I wonder why?
Boloney!! Threads are locked when the discussion turns into a shouting contest…The cause of shouting contests is, invariably, a non-Catholic who thinks that if s/he shrieks insults at the Virgin Mary, the other saints, the pope, or just Catholics in general-- That if the shrieking is loud enough, that the whole world will immediately believe them.🤷
'T’ain’t happening, magee…
Yelling & use of insults does not a victory make. It just makes a fool out of the one doing the yelling.

Look under my user name on carm. I really stir up the hornets over there with the truth. I have been banned COUNTLESS times. As a matter of fact, I am banned right now and proud of it. I posted links of YOUTUBE clips of various parts of the Holy Mass for everyone’s enjoyment and pleasure. Went over like a lead balloon I guess. 😃

I joined it a few months back, I’m surprised I’m not banned…yet !

I just stick to the RC section, don’t have time to bother with any-other, I’ve been called Romanist, something I’ve never been called, it don’t bother one iota, I’ve been called worse in my life.

Basically, I don’t care what they call me, and I don’t care if I’m banned, if they do at least I know I’ve done something right.

Yes.

You love to break forum rules and get banned all the time.

That is really something to be very proud of…not obeying rules you agreed to when you sign up.

Good job.

You are a great Catholic witness on CARM.

I am witnessing to the catholic faith, AS YOU KNOW 😃 The truth is what gets me banned in a place full of non-christians like carm.

If you follow the rules you agreed to when you signed, why are you surprised?

Be as Catholic as you want, but just don’t break the rules.

It is quite simple really.

I have never seen a thread so full of inaccuracies as this one.

…

I’m With Atemi on this one…

I wasn’t on there very long, but long enough to where it was clearly known that I was catholic… Never ran into any issues with the moderators. Granted that was over a year ago. things may have changed since then.

In Christ

Because the rules are hard to understand, so I was on egg-shells in expectation if I’d done anything wrong, it wasn’t like I wanted to get banned, it was more like tip-toeing.

" You can’t post this, you can’t post that " I was wondering how to respond after reading that.

I haven’t had any issues with the mods either, so far so good, I’m not there to cause trouble, I don’t go on there much.

LOL.

Now you know how it feels for someone like myself here!

Nothing has changed, heis.

They can care less if you are a very outspoken Catholic or not.

There is a huge Catholic to non-Catholic ratio there. About an even split of representation. Some devout Catholics posting there for years and years.

No problems.

Some choose to provoke, as one poster here boasted, so what is decent society supposed to do?

Just follow the rules and nobody gets hurt.

True, but the way the rules are enforced doesn’t always seem reasonable. I got banned for a week, not for criticizing the actions of an administrator, but for criticizing her attitude.

CARM is a false representation of Christianity. Most Protestant forum will boot Catholics if they give valid arguments that cannot be refuted.

It’s ironic that the Only Christian Forum that can tolerant other people of other faiths is Catholic Answers Forum… We have Protestants here and they have not been booted unless they break forum policy.

Most of the Protestant forum like CARM are afraid of the Truth. Who is Jesus Christ. Where do we find this Truth. Only in the Catholic Church. No one else can compete because they lack partial truth not fullness of truth.
This is a sweeping generalisation. ‘Protestant’ is not interchangable with ‘Fundamentalist’. May I respectfully suggest you have a look at the discussion boards at www.shipoffools.com - it is one of the few web forums I’ve come across where there is genuinely intelligent and respectful discussion. Judging all protestantism by CARM would be like judging all Catholicism by Catholic Answers Forum (the Catholic and Protestant Churches are much broader, praise be to God).

Well, over at CARM, a poster said that “I would never compare Catholics to dogs because that would be an insult to dogs.” It was complained about, and the moderator defended him!

Also, there is a rule about not having a deceptive avatar, and yet there is at least one evangelical pretending to be Catholic, and nothing has been done.

Not to say that there aren’t a lot of good non-Catholics over at Carm.

The first time I got suspended, it was for telling someone they needed to either re-read my post or get their head examined, as their response had nothing to do with what I wrote.

They said this was a personal attack, and suspended me for a week.

The second time I got suspended was for participating in a Rosary thread. I posted a couple of Hail Marys in English, then a few in other languages (Latin, Spanish, etc.). This is the response I got:
You have been banned for the following reason:
Spammed same post or thread on forums …Posting repetitive prayers to the dead on the RC forum including the use of language that is not English…
Meh. I guess you can be as Catholic as you want, as long as you don’t do anything too Catholic-y.

That’s ok. I needed to take a break from being called a child of Satan anyway.

God Bless,
RyanL

I wonder!

I can’t even count on two hands and two feet how many times a Catholic poster, here or elsewhere, has called me “the Devil” or a “child of Satan”…nevermind a dog, pig, or Hellbound, etc…

LOL.

I am never one much for these types of complaints because we all have our war stories, and neither party’s hands are clean.

Maybe there should be a general cry for civility instead of the finger poiting at those we don’t like.

Nahhhh. That’s no fun, right?

Down with CARM!!

Sigh.

I saw this as well. If I said that about them I would have been banned. Very lop sided over there.

Why on earth would you complain about being unfavorably compared to a dogs by someone who would make such a goofy statement?

What would have happened if you’d have simply replied back that someone who said such things showed themselves to be VERY unChristian and truly unworthy of being allowed to have conversations about religion with even dogs, because dogs are generally quite nice and lovable and should be protected from such people?

🙂

In other words: Just carry-on the conversation and let THEM make the first “appeal” to the (invariably) “fascist” moderation staff.

(( …I love 'ya Mod’s…!! You haven’t proven yourselves to be “fascists” quite yet,… but’cha never KNOW…!! 🙂 ))

…I’m in big doo-doo now,… right?

Mahalo ke Akua…!

I’m not saying I don’t believe you, but would you please produce a thread here at CAF where someone called you “the Devil” or a “child of Satan”?

Are you seriously claiming that the forums (CAF and carm) are equally (in)hospitable? With a straight face?
I am never one much for these types of complaints because we all have our war stories, and neither party’s hands are clean.
In my experience, it’s the exception and not the rule that Protestants here are mistreated – and if they are, it’s been my experience that other posters come to the Protestants’ defense.

In my (truncated) time at carm, I haven’t seen that once. No one reigns anyone in except Catholics, from what I’ve seen.
Maybe there should be a general cry for civility instead of the finger poiting at those we don’t like.
Ok.
Nahhhh. That’s no fun, right?
Civil dialog is preferable.
Down with CARM!!
You have said so.

God Bless,
RyanL
