I guess this is more of an anecdote than suggestion, but when I used to work as a Correctional Officer some of the inmates would get the rosary tattooed on their body…“carrying” problem solved
I’m also a new convert, and I had the same problem. I went to our local Catholic book store and bought a twine Rosary. It’s just a length of twine with tied knots instead of beads. it’s much more comfortable in my hip pocket.
Being a Knight of Columbus I usually try to carry one with me at all times. Even though I may not usually have time to pray it throughout my day you never know when a opportunity may come up and you have some down time.
Its also just nice to have in general as a holy reminder, I cant tell you how many times I have been going throughout my day and my hand brushes past my pocket with my rosary in it and it reminds me to say a short prayer.
