Does anyone have a link for the cartoons of Mohammid that are causing such an uproar in Europe and the rest of the world?

I’d like to see em and judge for myself. 👍

Anyway, radical Muslims who are causing so much trouble over a cartoon are doing their religion no service. Getting so angry over a cartoon that someone has every right to publish in a secular country like Denmark is weak on the Muslims part.

If I got my shotgun out and fired in the air every time someone blasted Jesus I’d be broke from spending all my money on shotgun shells!!(hey, maybe I could load my own) 😃

Let me start by saying that to denigrate another religion is completely offensive to me.
I find the response even more offensive.
It is said by many that “Islam is a religion of peace?”
Here is a sample of their protest signs.

I don’t support violence as a way to voice opinion, but surely most readers here would approve of boycotts?
Arla, the dairy company based in Denmark, where the cartoons were first published in September, said production had ceased in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. As a result the company said it was losing about £1m ($1.8m) of sales a day in the region.

Novo said its insulin products had been removed from the shelves of a chain of pharmaceutical stores in Saudi Arabia. It said the boycott had cost the company DKr200m in sales but that the boycott had not yet spread to other countries in the region.

Now I have to find a way to buy more ‘Made in Denmark’ products…maybe donate money to that paper? I dunno, but we should all support the Danes… 👍
 
The cartoons are offensive to Muslims.

From what I can tell, the Muslim countries do not subscribe to separation of church and state, so there is no such thing to them as a political cartoon versus a religious or anti-religious cartoon. To them, it is all the same.

So, to these people who do not make such a distinction, they will not show any tolerance to a political cartoon. And, it makes little difference to them, I assume, that Mohammed is a very common name, taken after their prophet.

they should, but won’t, be realistic that they say and do whatever they want. As the old saying goes, they can dish it out, but they can’t take it.

They don’t understand how “blasphemous” it is to Christians when the Muslims say that they believe in Jesus, but that he was just another prophet. They do not sense the blasphemy in their own view. And, of course, it is foreign for them to even entertain that idea. They must use a lot of aspirin for headaches.

On the other hand, there are some interesting points raised by this entire matter. The secularism in the western countries does contribute to ever-lowering standards of morality and discipline. To the extent that these cartoons are hate-mongering, they are truly evil.

For years Jesus, Our lord, has been ridiculed and insulted on tv and in film in the West, South Park is a prime example. What do we Christians do about it? Nothing.

Am I suggesting that we copy the muslims? Not at all. Their threats of violence are wrong. However, we need to stand up for our faith too. It will be a sad day indeed for this world if the only people who publicly stand up for their faith are the preachers of hate and violence.

Perhaps its because Jesus is just one of many religious figures that Muslims give respect to?

Maybe its similar to how many Protestant Christians respect and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary - at least at Christmastime. But when South Park aired its infamous episode about the bleeding statue of Mary it was Catholics who were outraged and took action.
 
I looked at the Human Events link above at the cartoons.
I can’t understand why the Muslims would get so upset over THOSE. They were really pretty mild, after all.

I must say, you have a point, let’s look at most of the major conflicts in the world, and usually you’ll find that on one side of each conflict are the Muslims.

For example, Israel, the Jews and the Palestenians (Muslims), violence in India, Hindus and Muslims, The Phillipines Muslim terrorists, Indonesia, radical Muslims, the Middle East, again Muslim extremists, and the list goes on and on

One could only conclude that the Muslims are the ones with a problem.

Europe had no right to repost those cartoons.

The problem I have is that Islam is going to blame the Christians for this and not the corrupt secular governments that are the real evil.
 
In the eye of muslims Secular = Christian. They dont care. As long as you are non muslims then you are to blame. I have seen those cartoons long time ago on the net. Where I live groups of muslim demo the danish embassy, burnt danish and other european flags, and yelling (condemning). This is just to show how violent they are. Many people died in iraq, afghanistan, palestine of suicide bombing, they dont care, but just a cartoon in secular country, they do really care. I cant imagine if they rule the world. We bet our lives on their swords… 😦

Islam is the real evil. Don’t blame governments for the violence and evil doings of the Muslims. Left unchecked, Islam will destroy the West.

Yes, I think the West needs to face reality and quit soft peddling the fact. Islam’s aim is cultural and religious imperialism through any means. They don’t intend to play by Western rules of fair play and respect given to opponants. 😦
