Steve O'Brien:
Casey Sheehan wanted to be a deacon. Here’s what his mother wrote:

Keep and spread the Faith.
If he was duped why did he RE-ENLIST!!! Funny how the only one who knew casy opposed the war is his Mom-everyne else who knew him says he was proud of what her was doing in Iraq. Ms Sheenan has NO shame

I truly am sorry about his death, I just can’t stand his mother’s grandstanding. I did notice that no one objected to her being quoted and assuming she is telling the gospel truth about the recruiters without any proof other than her word. I will drop it at this and not comment further on this thread. Sorry if I upset you or anyone else.
Thank you, Lance. I was just getting all teary-eyed reading about Richardols’ son and Casey. It would have been hard seeing it turn into another fight.

Stop it!! This is a thread about CASEY, not his mother. Please. The two of you stop it. Can we have just one thread in honor of this fallen hero?

Steve Obren strated it . He posted some revisonist tripe claiming that this brave young man enlisted for money and was duped . Of course that is the usual view the left has of the military. They cant comprehend a desire to serve ones country so it becomes necesary to demean the motives of those who do. What Mr Obrien (nor Ms Sheehan) can explain is why , if he was duped, he re-enilsted?

I understand. My apologies to Lance and Richardols.

Please. No dogfights, ok? Save that for the Cindy Sheehan thread.

Your argument belongs on another thread.

BTW, when I enlisted for the Vietnam War, I was then and still am a part of the Left. Don’t make generalizations. Thanks.

I didn´t know that, the death of a brother is a great loss and in addition practising, a great pity.
