would have to be catechism, survival is just common sense you would be amazed how creative you can be when your life depends on it

Man JC - You take all the fun out of deserted islands… 😉
Not at all! Can’t you see the immense possibilities? I know myself…I’m full of faults, but when a passion grabs me I’m all over it. I’d have memorized the Survival Guide in a matter of days (out of necessity), and since all that info would be in my head, it would leave me time to befriend all the animals on the island!

Sure, it’ll be a penance…but God does bless us sinners.

I’d probably get to the point I wouldn’t want to leave the island ever because all my pets would be there. Seriously…can’t you imagine how great it could really be if you played your cards right?
:bounce:
😃

Logically, I chose the Survival guide because I would want to think that God would want me to survive the best I could before being rescued.

The Catechism and the Liturgy of the Hours…don’t they have the basis origin from the Bible anyway. After that the rest of the books were just unimportant…sorry Karl.

Shoshanna…could you email me a link to allow me to use all those neat little things you put in your posts? They are insane and cool…and I want access to them…

Well, excuse me Will Turner, if you wish to use my neat, little, insane and cool things, I need to hear the magic word if you want to access them… smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_31_4.gif

But since they are not mine per se, I guess I’ll share them with you, being the feast day of Our Lady and all… smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_29_113.gif

You only need to go to www.SmileyCentral.com and you can have all the fun you want for free…they will not even ask you to… smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_29_110.gif

Anyway, Have a Happy and Holy New year! smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/11/11_5_14.gif

Blessings,
Shoshana;)

If you were castaway on a tropical island and could have only one book with you (besides the Bible) what would it be? Choose from the above or list your own.
The Book of Common Prayer ( 1929 version ).

Even my elderly, die-hard Southern Baptist high school English teacher would readily admit that ( other than the Bible ) - it is her favorite book in the English language - bar none !

FM 21-76 has always served me well out in the field. Using it, I can survive and hopefully even build myself a chapel!

The US Army Survival Guide, hands down! I figure if they use it to survive then it’s gotta be the bomb!!! 😃

The ultimate island survival guide- “Don’t Stop the Carnival” by Herman Wouk.

How about we all get stuck on this island and open up our own library. I’ll bring the Margarita mix (virgin of course)!!!

DU

Easy!
The Lord of the Rings.
Or The Silmarillion.
Or The History if Middle Earth.
Or The Letters of JRR Tolkien.

I’m noticing a pattern here.

Well, if you’re bringing the mix- I’ll bring the tequila. Sorry, but a virgin margarita a sad thing.

Only 19…but maybe there is no minimum drinking age on the island…😃

DU

The US Tax Code.

I ought to be able to build a raft out of that with enough left over to make a signal fire visible from the nearest continent.

Duh, the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Actually, If I had that much time on my hands, I think I’d want the Simirillion (sp?) By the time I figured out all the interactions of peoples and places with the LOR (which I have already read a lot) I’d either be dead or rescued!

Dante’s Inferno, I love that book. Everytime I read it I pick up something new…
