Catholic and Evangelicals are Religious Extremists

Dear Deacon Gary,

Our society is not headed toward persecution of Catholics and the Truth we stand for. We are already being persecuted. The rough times are not near, they are already here.

I testified at my state legislature recently, against a bill which violates our religious beliefs. The contempt against Catholics was open, the comments I received as I left the hearing room are unrepeatable. Newspaper editors don’t seem to care how their columnists or “letters to the editor” writers blatantly slam Catholicism. I have overheard digs against Catholics walking to church, in the grocery store line, at the workplace, by my own relatives and friends, and elsewhere.

And I have not heard a word from the clergy, at least in my city, talking to Catholics about this situation. Catholics are not being geared for battle.

I agree with you however I carry it further. What I am talking about is physical persecution. Yes all these things you mention are already happening. But wait when the US Supreme Court rules to redefine marriage; clergy will be sued and charged with crimes for not performing same sex ceremonies. We will be arrested and jailed for standing for truth.

Have you seen the movie, “For Greater Glory”? It will happen here in the USA, the land built on the premise of religious freedom and liberty. These days the only liberty granted is when it is in accord with the militant groups like LBGT.

No, I truly agree with you but I carry this much much further. And to the “quiet” clergy, they are out there. My pastor and I do preach this message; I preach strongly against all the ills of society, same sex "marriage, abortion, artificial contraception, etc. I can also assure you that the people in the pews appreciate the straight talk. However, many priests do not like what we soldiers preach. One of my classmates who is on board with the signs of the times has been told by his pastor several times to “tone it down”. He is truly struggling with this; but he understands he has to preach the gospel of Christ, not modernism. Jesus opens heaven not the world’s view of tolerance.

One of our greatest American Bishops talks a lot about the perversion of the word tolerance, Arch Bishop Fulton Sheen. Today’s tolerance is expected to tolerate perversion and sin. We must tolerate people, we can never tolerate their sin.

Bishop Sheen was truly remarkable… I have seen about 2 or 3 of his shows; they were so gripping. I need to make more time to listen to some of his old shows. He was on prime time TV, that almost boggles the mind. To be fair the series Catholicism that been shown periodically on PBS is pretty good.

Do you even realize what you are saying??? Who do you think these “radical traditional Catholics” are? They are your brother and sister Catholics! Your government is lableing them as hate groups, you truly think it is just the fringe radicals??? Because they believe in the TLM? Are you really this naive?

Main stream Catholicism does not and will not accept the views which are against truth, not now, not ever; if She would She would cease being truth.

It’s time for you to choose sides, God or His enemy. It is your choice.

We are very quickly heading to a major persecution in this country, in the name of “tolerance”. Is is scary to watch but watch. Good is called evil and evil good…sound familiar? Isa. 5:20-21

Rough times are near for Mother Church, and especially those who stand firm in the truth. I hope this Church of the USA is ready, the fight for our salvation is near. My double edged sword is sharp and ready for battle!!!

I think you need to read my original post. Just to make it clear the SLPC made it explicit they WERE NOT putting Catholics that believe in the TLM on the list or Traditional Catholics for that matter. The group that is on this list is called the Radical Traditional Catholics. Yes I agree this group should be on this list and you should too.

How did they earn it? By standing on truth??? What is hate speech, whatever you do not believe in? Where are we going in this formerly free country…

Just because one agrees with the message of the FRC doesn’t mean they ought to agree with their tactics. However if you wish to defend a group that makes up its own pseudo-science to defend its positions, and has ties to the KKK and anti-semite groups. In addition, advocates for far more harsh policies than just against gay marriage that speaks more to your concept of “truth” not mine.
