Hello! Are you an official member of CFD? Im from Iligan. Mayor Socrates Fernandez is a very known CFD. Also is Atty. Marcelo Bacalso.

Sad to note, CFD is not active here in Iligan. However, it is very progressive in Ozamiz.
bro w_stewart,

peace and all-good!

if you are from iligan city, you can listen to the CFD (catholic faith defenders) radio program daily (except friday) at 7:00pm to 8:00pm over DxDD-AM and every sunday from 12:00nn to 5:00pm.

if you are interested for an apologetic seminar be conducted in your parish church, please discuss it with your parish priest. there is a good team of good catholic apologetics in cagayan de oro city and in ozamiz city.

there are also available books on apologetics at saint paul bookstore (fatima chapel, velez street, cagayan de oro city) written by ex-adventist bro. soc fernandez and conversion stories by scott hahn (rome sweet home), david currie (born fundamentalist, born again catholic), etc.

Ave Maria!

hello, im quite aware that my question is not relevant to this thread’s topic, but seeing that there are a lot of Pilipinos in this thread im confident to ask this question anyway.

i bought a nice figurine of Pope John Paul II, my question is, could i already put this figurine in my altar knowing that the late Pontiff is not even beatified yet. a lot of Pilipinos place a picture of their deceased parents in their family altars, can i place this figurine with the same intention?

I don’t see anything wrong there; there are quite a number of people who pray to Pope John Paul II here.

Defensores Fidei Foundation already invited the likes of Steve Ray and Tim Staples in the Philippines to conduct seminars and apologetics talk.

Have you heard of Know The Truth Newsletter written by Fr. Paul Kaiparambadan? It’s an apologetic reply to various Protestant teachings especially that of Iglesia Ni Cristo and Ang Dating Daan

People, it would help if we can post in English, for the benefit of the members who can’t read Filipino. Thanks.

yep they are really and desperately want to get your attention, so on pentecost 2008 why not tell your parsih priest to put a banner that says “happy 1974th anniversary Roman Catholic Church!!!”
an assured person is ussually silent, but a person in doubt needs to repeat (to the point of making a huge banner) his artifical truth until he believes that he is indeed true.

Magsalita tayo ng Ingles para sa lahat nandito na hindi Pilipino.
Let’s talk in English for everyone here who isn’t Filipino. 🙂

Anyway, I wanted to post here because there’s going to be a new topic on Speak Out (Y Speak) and today’s topic (07/29/07) is Catholics vs. Ex-Catholics.

I posted about a previous episode titled Catholicism: To Be or Not? but I never saw it aired. Instead it was Private vs. Public Schools. So I don’t know if today’s topic is going to be discussed.

It was interesting to see the preview. From what I saw, on the Ex-Catholics side they had a Filipino Muslim who said “I say you should go back to the truth which is Islam.” Then there was a lady who said that “It is man-made”.

On the Catholic side there was a man that said, “Yes Christianity is man-made, for Christ was man.”

That’s all there was in the preview. I hope you all get to watch it. It’s cable channel 401 in San Diego.

Well, it is true, and I’m proud to say that there are many Filipinos who would like to express their catholic faith to the world. But there are some hindrances using the internet world. Firstly, the PCs, speaking in behalf of those at my age level, were not known to us, not like today’s modern age that young Filipinos were taught about computers even in the elementary level. Just take an example on my person. I don’t know how to operate the PC to its full knowledge. If it were not for my insistence requesting my kids to teach me, though only partial of it, for they were murmuring that old carabaos are very hard to learn new lessons, I wouldn’t have reached the CATHOLIC.COM site. Now they are laughing at me for I’m beginning to learn !

Secondly, not every Filipino family has a PC at home. If there is, the connection for the internet is another budgetary problem.

Thirdly, english language is very necessary if one would like to join in this site. There are many professional Filipinos who are qualified to participate in, but lacks also the quality of an apologist mentality for they don’t bother to study about it, so would just prefer to use their PCs on other matters.

If none of these hindrances stated above become the obstacle for expressing their faiths, you can find this CATHOLIC.COM site be swarmed by Filipinos.

Hello! to everyone I’m very happy to found your site. Hirap kasi sa mga circle of friends ko bihira kasi ang mahillig sa apologetics or to talk about topic regarding our faith. I’m also a new member of christiantser.com a religious site. And most of its member are from the different protestant denamination may forum din sila duon at marami silang anti-catholic topics. And sadly to say most of our catholic brother who try to dialogue with them are not well equipped or updated to the latest issue regarding our faith. And even misrepresnt our faith, maybe they are not well educated in our belief. So I will try to share with them guided by the magisterium teaching keeping in mind the passage in 1 Peter 3:15

God bless to you all & pray for me!

Hi, all Filipinos who are participating in this thread “Catholic Apologetic Site For Filipinos”, would it be wonderful if one of you would post a question with regard to our faith, if there is any ? Anyway we are all Filipinos ! Don’t be ashamed if ever your grammar is wrong ! We should be proud to all foreign countries that we, Filipinos, know the english language, while they don’t know our national language ! Let us use this thread for the upliftment of our catholic faith. Shall we ? Would we ? 😃 👍

It is right to follow the teaching of our magisterium, specially the dogmas. Dogmas are forever like diamonds. Let be reminded that not all teachings of the catholic church are dogmas , but all dogmas are teachings. There are also about more or less ( my estimate ) 150 material dogmas. Strictly speaking these are not proper dogmas but we are bound to adhere to its truth. So called as such because these teachings have not been defined yet by the plenary Ecumenical Council or by ex cathedra of the pope. Not adhering to these dogmas, one could commit a sin of heresy.
