Always reach out to our INK brothers/sisters especially when they repeat their Ministers’ twisting of script like accusing us of worshipping creatures and doctrines of the devil like celibacy.

It’s been a while since I visited this forum, and look what welcomed me back? Catholic Apologetics for Pinoys! God bless!

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam! 🙂

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis!

In my parish, many Filipinos are active too! 👍

Shalom.

I am a Cebuano (yes, a Filipino). I have been living here in the Philippines for all my life. I would like to call myself an amateur apologist. I am frequently visiting two Filipino websites - both of which have an online forum.

[1] genrev.net — describes itself as the craziest, friendliest online community for Catholic students

I have started four topics here in the Opinion forum, and I have seen a large number of those who visit the boards actually viewing (and presumably reading) the contents. Unfortunately, I have encountered a number of un-Catholic views on some issues pervading the opinions expressed. Sometimes, these come from the moderators/administrators themselves.

[2] istorya.net — describes itself as a site based in Cebu City, Philippines and a home for everyone (from Visayas to Mindanao to Luzon to the rest of the world)

In its Political and Current Events forum, there is a topic on religion. For the most part, it is a discussion (more like an attack) on the Catholic religion. The discussion sometimes degenerate into something less civilized.

Though I often find help from other post-ers in the two forums, I realize that we need more and better materials to point these people to. I am therefore grateful that I have a Filipino apologetics website I can point to for the more ‘native’ elaboration. You have just given me an idea of how to better reach out to my fellow Cebuanos. It is a hard work but I am ready to work hard. Souls is at stake.

Mane nobiscum, Domine!

If you really want to be defend our Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, i recommend you to protestants forums. You will feel like a martyr in those forums.

Indeed.

I tried that once; never got the same nerve to try again.

Knowing the basics and keeping ourselves abreast w/Catholic websites such as this helps a lot. There’s no need for quick response to anti-Catholic remarks Sincerity and patiece works wonders most of the time. God bless…

🙂 God is good… All the time!

Hi everybody! I’m not from the Philippines but I just wanted to say, as a fellow Catholic, thanks for all you are doing! 👍

Fidelis:
Good for you, kat holos! My wife is filipina and she would affirm your sentiments. Here in the States, Filipinos are often the back-bone of the parish, being involved in many levels of parish life both spiritual and educational. Give me an army of Filipinos that are well-educated in the Faith and on fire for the Lord, and I could conquer the world for Christ! 👍
I too am from the Philippines, living in New Jersey. I know what you are saying. In many ways, we Filipinos have a powerful faith but if anyone from the outside will ask us questions about the Church teachings, many of us do not know and we are not a match to the Pentecostal and other religions coming into our small little towns presenting an alternative to our Catholic Faith that is easy, simple (rote arguments and answers), entertaining and backed up by strong fellowship. They are so organized and so seductive that it is so easy for people to fall for them. I was told that a whole town somewhere in Sorgogon has become Born-Again protestants.

The Filipinos are known for our obedient, humble and unquestioning spirit- -which is a virtue in one way, but this is not enough. We have to be fed the correct teachings of the Church and the openness to the Word of God to be able to help build His kingdom…

May God anoint Your website, through the blood of Jesus and the light of wisdom on the Holy Spirt. Amen.

:gopray2: May God spare the Philippines from further heresy and schism.

👍 Salamat! Kailangan ni Eli Soriano ng apologetics in tagalog translation.

 Quiboloy! The son of Christ who assumed heavenly fatherhood???

:dancing: Praise the lord! Eddie Villanueva, what happened to God’s vision of you being president?

:banghead: Iglesia Ni Kristo; Quote from an INK apologist: “Why would you believe Thomas saying “My Lord and my God?” He’s not on his normal state of mind.”

:bigyikes: Rizalista: Forget it!

Peace!

😃 Way too much. I like the site though.

Peace!

It’s slick. I also like their school–at least its facilities. But other than those, there’s not much to go on…

So they are saying that Thomas is crazy and spoke of blasphemy and Jesus didn’t condemn this? I thought they follow what the Bible says?

I think they are more rubbish than Thomas for making programs to attack Soriano… How sad…

Rizalista? Forget them…yah!

Hello everyone, I just joined the group. This is Dr. Lucia Teen from Quezon City, Philippines.

Before I proceed with my introduction, I would like to clarify that I am a male and I am not a doctor. The log in I use is just some sort of anagram of my real name. This log in or nickname also serves some security purpose…to confuse the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) if ever they decide to track me down.

I was born and raised in the INC. I have professed my faith in its doctrines when I was indoctrinated and baptized.

I have been a very active officer of the INC…from the local level, to the Ecclesiastical Disctrict, to the INC Metro Manila Coordinating Committee and to the INC Central Office.

I have persecuted Catholics wherever I met them…including the internet.

I was very faithful to God, and he must have been the one who held me up high, outside and beyond the INC. I realized that I have been deceived. The INC created a very unreal image of itself and distorted everything about the Catholic Church.

I gradually stopped attending the INC worship services in the year 2000. In addition, I was very interested in knowing what the Jubilee Year was about and my Catholic friends were very kind to tell me.

In January 2001, I joined EDSA People Power 2 and was disappointed how the INC Administration could not declare a position while it was obvious that they are supporting former President Estrada. When the conflict ended, I attended my very first Catholic Mass…the Thanksgiving Mass at the EDSA Shrine officiated by Cardinal Sin.

In March 2001, after declaring to our resident minister that I have stopped believing the teachings of the INC, I left it. I did not want to join any organized religion afterwards, but I was already praying like a Catholic. I began having a devotion to the blessed mother Mary and the Holy Family.

On June 3, 2001, after reading a missallete from a mass we were unable to attend, I was convinced that the Church that Our Lord Jesus Christ established did not perish or completely apostatized. Christ built his church and the gates of hell did not prevail against it. He also promised that he will be with his church until the end of time.

On September 9, 2001, I received the last of the needed sacraments to complete my conversion. I converted to the Roman Catholic Church.

For me, the most powerful and effective way to bring people like the INCs to enlightenment…is prayer.

Pray and let others see Christ in you.

If you have questions about the INC, I may be able to answer them. Please avoid sending private messages or emails as I may not be able to reply. Answering similar questions over and over again would be very inconvenient.

If you want to know more about me, please check out everything that I have written on the following link

There had been initial efforts to gather Catholic Apologists online, please visit the sites above to get acquainted with them. There are priests and other religious who respond to questions on my discussion group.

So far, I have been interacting with at least two group of apologists, the ones at forum/84590 and the Defensoris Fidei.

I have joined this forum to meet others.

Welcome to Catholic Answers my friend.
Those links where nice. I have read some of them

Like you, Apologetics has helped me alot. Evethough I see Catholics not performing as the way they should be, I still stick with the RCC because I know that ONLY the Catholic Church was given the authority by Jesus (Mt 16:18). I don’t know where those other churches got their authority given that they existed centuries after the apostles.
.
Take the Pro-life issues for example, it is only the RCC who is the real defender of life, and vocal against contraception and abortion while the other churches like INC seem to be absent

I want good persons like you to be a member of RCC. The INC can have all the B.I. members of RCC hehe

Welcome to the Catholic Church, Dr. Lucia Teen (I purposely wrote your name in full to keep the anagram intact). It is good to know there is somebody like you who saw the Light.

Yes, I believe the answer is prayer and more importantly, let others see Christ in us.

God bless.

Won’t it be nice if everyone could see the true light, my friend and we all become one body of Christ? Pardon me, but what does B.I. mean?
