There something good in that “Catholics are not performing as the way they should be”…no one will have expectations.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo, where I came from, has that as some kind of weakness or a fault. They claim themselves as “the chosen people of God”, “the true Christians” and others that they make themselves appear holy and everyone else as evil…and yet they could not meet up with the expectation they have taken upon themselves.

This is the reason why after so many years inside this religion, I decided to leave it. What I’ve found out is that almost everything they claim as their qualities that make them the true church…I’ve found it in the Roman Catholic Church. And to think that Catholics don’t make such a big deal and would even humbly deny such a fact.

God bless you.

Welcome to Catholic Answers my friend.
Those links where nice. I have read some of them

Like you, Apologetics has helped me alot. Evethough I see Catholics not performing as the way they should be, I still stick with the RCC because I know that ONLY the Catholic Church was given the authority by Jesus (Mt 16:18). I don’t know where those other churches got their authority given that they existed centuries after the apostles.
.
Take the Pro-life issues for example, it is only the RCC who is the real defender of life, and vocal against contraception and abortion while the other churches like INC seem to be absent

I want good persons like you to be a member of RCC. The INC can have all the B.I. members of RCC hehe

You can also post some of your texts at pinoyexchange/realm of thought:

Let’s pray for the others who are leaving the Iglesia Ni Cristo and are discerning what to do afterwards…that they find themselves back home, the home of their ancestors…the Roman Catholic Church.

You see, leaving a religion like the Iglesia Ni Cristo is not easy. They are not afraid of expulsion. They may be more concerned about loved ones who will be humiliated by this church when their expulsion is announced after their church service…and churchgoers gossiping about the cause of the expulsion.

In the Philippine provinces, some are threatened with violence.

Let us pray for them.

Welcome to the Catholic Church, Dr. Lucia Teen (I purposely wrote your name in full to keep the anagram intact). It is good to know there is somebody like you who saw the Light.

Yes, I believe the answer is prayer and more importantly, let others see Christ in us.

God bless.

Won’t it be nice if everyone could see the true light, my friend and we all become one body of Christ? Pardon me, but what does B.I. mean?
BI stands for bad influence

I created my own website and its www.geocities.com/kat_holos/rcc. For english-speaking people, sorry you’ll never understand it since its written in tagalog. I’m planning to further revise it. And by the way, I’m not a priest and I don’t even have a formal schooling in theology, but I’ve tried to study my catechism and I’ve read a lot of books about theology and apologetics and a lot of bible commentaries. Our bishops here are more concerned with politics than in guarding and defending our faith, so I took the initiative even if I’m not a theologian - in fact I’m just a 3rd year medical student. 😃
hello there… mukhang madami ka ng alam tungkol sa catholic religion ah…isa kasi ako sa mga taong madaming tanong tungkol sa relihiyong ito…i’m 24 yrs old and I am born a chatolic…pero hindi nako nagsisimba ngayon…

Well, the site is a good place to start, as well as this forum here. Hope you’ll make use of them in knowing more about your faith.

zup kuroro… halos same age lng tayo ah. and halos same situation din tayo before. ako yung katolikong kalaban ang katoliko dati. heheh! Try mo sa EWTN mag start and dito sa CAF. Marami kang matututunan dito. Kung aasa kasi tayo sa mga pari wla tayong maaasahan pagdating sa mga bagay bagay about sa church kasi busy sila sa mga pagmimisa at more on spiritual side. If you don’t know the Cathechism pwede ka bumili ng book. it will help a lot.

Hi there kuroro,

I can’t helpt but pity those Filipino Catholics in the Philippines who lost their sense of faith just because of the few erring priests and bishops.

Just recently, I saw it in TV that priest and nuns were among those hand in hand with the extreme left and right, and I think they too lost their sense of justice…

I thank God that there are still other good Filipino CAtholic Christians who are doing their best to help other Catholics… thanks Kat-Holos…

And for you my brother kuroro, keep hold on to your faith no matter what. Just dont blame your priests and bishops, but be humble, study the church’ catechism, don’t just rely on them, strive to know more and I can assure you of your surpassing joy once you come to know the real beauty of our Catholic faith which is rooted in the teachings of Christ through the apostles…

God bless you and your whole household.

The good thing is you realized that. When I was your age I was one of those prodigal son who lambast the Holy Mother Church. At that I time I was with the LDS, but before that, I came to be an adventist, a born again, you name it at least now that im back i am hoping to pay back. So hold on and don’t make my mistake of looking for answers in another belief.

Peace!

From the outside, and afar, looking in, please accept my sincere appreciation for these monumental efforts of Filipino Catholic apologists, young and the not-so-young alike!

It’s about time we recapture the errant souls of our separated brethren, especially the INCs and the other neo-Christian and pseudo-Christian sects sprouting all over the islands.

While confronting these malevolent sectarian groups, let’s pause for certain moments to remind ourselves to return to the basics: a stronger catechesis of the faithful, especially the young, down to the parish level. Forearmed with the basic tenets of our faith, we might be able to turn the tide of growing complacency apparently malignant in our society today.

On another level, how I wish the Catholic Church in the Philippines distances herself appropriately from the political arena. However, it is extremely difficult to re-establish such a stance now after the late Cardinal Sin threw his support for EDSA I of yore. I can’t fault the good, jolly Cardinal for his decision then as the events at that time called for the intervention of the Church to prevent a possible bloodshed on the part of the innocent and the spectator caught between the military forces of the political protagonists. The Church should limit her concerns to the social blights that afflict our society and which are determined to be caused by political failure or indifference.

I could echo the observation made by Fr. Ben J. Villote, my parish priest/university chaplain (and a good friend) at the Church of the Holy Sacrifice (U.P. Diliman) about 40 years ago: our society is (again) in ferment!

:blessyou: How about we organize an all Filipino online defenders? I’ve been into a lot of Filipino sponsored forums and most often Catholicism is left without a defense. There are lots of defenders out there. I’ve met a lot of them getting battered with so many questions. If we could get to meet them even online only, surely we can help each other defending the faith better. An ant can bite, but a colony can conquer.

Peace!🙂

That’s a good idea. Someone already contacted me in another forum regarding this–Captain America is his username there. You know where that forum is, the same one where the Muslims and Oneness people make threads against us.

Good Idea Kat_holos, I believe that you have a wide knowledge of our faith and it’s so nice you have those books. By the way, like you i been studying also our catechism, i am in mindanao.

wow, i never imagined that there are still filipino catholics who would still defend the church that they loved and still love. the catholic church in the phlippines is under a lot of pressure this days from christian denominations. don’t we have a thread yet defending our faith from the attacks of Eliseo
Soriano? he is currently having a good shopping spree for filipino catholics nowadays.

Well we have dealt with so much from his members, but unfrotunately he’s good only for excuses and not to be too arrogant the guy is giving out fallacious information. I’ve mailed them so many times and I wonder if they do read it or what. The local apostolate I am into has gone fishing some of his members as well but, we don’t need to flash it across the tv screen anyway. The real problem with them is their attitude. I once had a chat with an ADD member infront of the Quiapo Church and he turned out so hot headed that he shouted: Tan_ _ ka pala eh sinasabi na sayong kami ay sumusunod sa simbahang nasa bibliya tapos sasabihin mo e bakit kami hindi nagsa sign of the cross bobo!" I was really amazed at him and all the reply I could say is: Gusto mo sumigaw ako nang binabastos mo ang mahal na nazareno?" the guy fled.😃

Peace!
