This was very crude. A very godly man has died, have mercy. An example of unChristlike comments by someone claiming to be a deacon of the church

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him and may he Rest In Peace. Amen.

He was a good Catholic. Prayers for the eternal repose of his soul, and that he is finally with Jesus.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Dear (name removed by moderator),

It is hardly charitable to add that “sting in the tail” to your prayers for his soul.

Mr Vennari may have been mistaken on several things, but remember that he was formed in a bad spiritual school (the notorious Most Holy Family Monastery) and such influences are hard to shake off. (Think of all the “liberal Catholics” whose consciences have been distorted by secular and progressive ideals, and who find it hard to cast off these things even many years later.)

If we can pray for the repose of the soul of a notorious pro-abortion politician, such as Ted Kennedy, without alluding to his evil policies, why can we not extend the same courtesy to Mr. Vennari?

May his soul rest in peace and may God console his family and friends.

and let perpetual light shine upon him.

In Mercy of God, rest in peace.

Prayers for Mr. Vennari’s soul and for his loved ones. Being in the same city, I had the occasion to meet him in person on a few occasions, and while I disagree on many of his stances as far as CFN is concerned, he was always a very pleasant man with a beautiful family. He even went out of his way to be there for a friend of mine when his wife passed some years back. May he rest in peace.

Praying the chaplet of Little Crown for his soul and the souls of all those who have died today…

Amen and Amen! “Seattle Catholic” was neither in Seattle nor faithfully Catholic, preaching Vennarism. But, I rely on God’s mercy as much (or more) than John Vennari does.

Rest in peace, John - knowing more truth now than anyone here on earth.

**I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen. **

Have you ever read his relentlessly negative and schismatic stuff? Borderline calumniation of Mother Angelica for but one. He was not a happy man, in my estimation. I pray that he is in utter bliss as we speak.

I think that the “stinger” is at least as forgivable as preaching schism (i.e. scandal), don’t you think? Doesn’t matter how and where Mr. Vennari was raised. He has an intellect, a will and a conscience and answers for obedience or disobedience. Like me.
