I dont think it is going to happen, for all of our sakes (his too)…but I could seriously see him as antichrist.

Now, that is hasty and judgmental on my part, admittedly. It’s probably nothing.

But IF someone is so evil that many otherwise religious people literally suspect him as being potentially a candidate for the biblical antichrist…well, there is probably something wrong with him…and something wrong with any nationalist ideology that elects them to leadership…

No, not “weird conspiracy theories from the fringe of radical Protestantism”. How about mainstream Protestantism. Martin Luther is the first one (I know of) to make that statement.

Not the current pope. Nor “the papacy” in general, which I obviously support.

But I would NOT be surprised if at the end times SOME Pope, or at least a man widely believed to be pope (even though he is in fact an antipope)…was the antichrist.

That would make sense too…

Where are these Jews with their “hands into everything”? I don’t mean to be rhetorical, but I think you ought to back up your claim.

Please read the article in my last post. The Jews still have a role to play in salvation history. The anti-Christ may indeed end up a Jew, but that’s irrelevant. We don’t know who he’ll be. I think you go too far when you suggest Jews hate Christ. Most Jews have yet to be introduced to Christ. Roy Schoeman, a Jewish-Catholic convert, says the best thing a Catholic can do for a Jew is introduce him to Christ. So many Jews would embrace Christ if they only knew him.

Are you sure? There are Christian churches everywhere, and I have yet to see any mass conversions. I think the role which Jews had to play in history has already been done—in the form of Christ Jesus our Lord. Now, I don’t think most, or many Jews hate Christ, but I am not Zionist. Jews have the right of respect that belongs to all human beings, Christian, Jew, atheist, etc. No more or less. But I do not see how the Jews of today can be said to have a special role in salvation. The Jewish are still looking for a Messiah. In the view of Christianity, He has already arrived. What more are we to say?

That being said, I think Israel as a civil nation has the right of defense, but somehow in the media this always turns into Zionist ideas.
