Hi all!
OK, here’s a new question.
The phrase is, “You can’t take it with you.” But someone in the Tanakh (what we call what Christians call the “Old Testament”; this is the only hint I’m giving) did take it with him, he took it all with him (not that it helped him much).
Who is he?Be well!

OK, am I the only person who is going nuts over this one??? SSV, how can you do this to us??
The only people I can think of are Enoch & Elijah, but that makes no sense at all…So both are wrong! I need another clue!!
It’s a pretty vague question, but at a guess…I would say Solomon.

1 Kings 11:31-35

    Genesis 47:23-24
23 Joseph told the people: “Now that I have acquired you and your land for Pharaoh, here is your seed for sowing the land. 24 But when the harvest is in, you must give a fifth of it to Pharaoh, while you keep four-fifths as seed for your fields and as food for yourselves and your families (and as food for your children).”

The false teaching that the parousia was at hand.
From the Confraternity NT:
Some of the Thessalonians who wer convinced that the Second Coming of Christ was at hand thought it useless to work, and consequently lived irregularly. Payl condemned this practice, and ordered the offenders to be corrected. He urged all to adhere to his teachings, whether these were given orally or in writing.

When Joshua and the children of Israel entered the promised land, how many cities made peace with Israel, rather than fight?
  1. 3
  2. 1
  3. 7
  4. 12

Matthew 10:1-7:

Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples and gave them authority over illness. The names of the Twelve Apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.
Code:
Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus, "Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: "The Kingdom of God is at hand."
What does it mean that the Apostles should not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan village? This sounds snobbish. Aren’t the people that don’t know Christ the ‘lost sheep’? Is this telling us to associate only w/Catholics or with all Christains??

If God ‘chooses’ ‘his people’ then does this mean non-believers are just not important and don’t matter? Why were they created at all if they’re doomed from the start?

Thank you!!

In Christ,
Eddie

Correct…
2 Thessalonians 2: 1-2

1 We ask you, brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling with him, 2 not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed either by a “spirit,” or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand.

    1Kings 13: 16-26
16 “I cannot go back with you, and I cannot eat bread or drink water with you in this place,” he answered, 17 “for I was told by the word of the LORD neither to eat bread nor drink water here, and not to go back the way I came.” 18 But he said to him, “I, too, am a prophet like you, and an angel told me in the word of the LORD to bring you back with me to my house and to have you eat bread and drink water.” He was lying to him, however. 19 So he went back with him, and ate bread and drank water in his house. 20 But while they were sitting at table, the LORD spoke to the prophet who had brought him back, 21 and he cried out to the man of God who had come from Judah: “The LORD says, ‘Because you rebelled against the command of the LORD and did not keep the command which the LORD, your God, gave you, 22 but returned and ate bread and drank water in the place where he told you to do neither, your corpse shall not be brought to the grave of your ancestors.’” 23 After he had eaten bread and drunk water, the *** was saddled for him, and he again 24 set out. But a lion met him on the road, and killed him. His corpse lay sprawled on the road, and the *** remained standing by it, and so did the lion. 25 Some passers-by saw the body lying in the road, with the lion standing beside it, and carried the news to the city where the old prophet lived. 26 On hearing it, the prophet who had brought him back from his journey said: “It is the man of God who rebelled against the command of the LORD. He has delivered him to a lion, which mangled and killed him, as the LORD predicted to him.”
