Saint Norbert’s is reprising dialogue with the CIA-operative and MKULTRA-superstar Henry Kissinger’s former girlfriend, Gloria Steinem. Steinem, who “visited” Communist Russia as did William Jefferson Clinton, is polishing up the historic narrative to cover over her black-state-sponsored hijacking of feminism, creating the “Second Wave” of prostitution-in-place abortion feminism; engineering the bypassing of “equal pay for equal work” feminism–now being revisited by Clinton’s wifely pre-president. Got it?

Wisely, the good shepherd is protesting this travesty on a private Catholic college campus.

Will we recognize that America didn’t fall, she was pushed?!?

From the above link:
The bishop said he has received letters, phone calls, emails and complaints from those opposed to Steinem’s visit.
“Even though Gloria Steinem has appeared at St. Norbert College before my time as the bishop of this diocese, and acknowledging that she has appeared at other Catholic colleges and universities, I do not approve of the appearance of Gloria Steinem at St. Norbert College,” the bishop’s statement says.
“I have conveyed my strong disapproval to the abbot, the president of the college and the chair of the board.”
I also remember Bishop Ricken as the most clearly instructive Catholic prelate regarding the non-negotiable evils that moral voters should do their utmost to oppose (and of course trying to avoid any complicity with) in the voting booth - just prior to the 2012 election.

The Huffington Post reported on that pastoral letter … in a hostile way IMO … but nonetheless seemed to quote him accurately prior to their dissenting piece.

Catholics are taught to believe that their bishops have the authority and duty to shepherd and teach them, and Bishop Ricken takes his flock to school. He writes:
I would like to review some of the principles to keep in mind as you approach the voting booth to complete your ballot. The first is the set of non-negotiables.
These are **areas that are “intrinsically evil” and cannot be supported by anyone **
who is a believer in God or the common good or the dignity of the human person.

***They are:

abortion

euthanasia

embryonic stem cell research

human cloning

homosexual “marriage”

These are intrinsically evil. ***

“A well-formed Christian conscience does not permit one to vote for a political program that contradicts fundamental contents of faith and morals.”

Intrinsically evil actions are those which have an evil object.

In other words, an act is evil by its very nature and to choose an action of this type puts one in grave moral danger. [Emphases added.]

Thank you for this post and may God bless Bishop David Ricken. He is truly a Good Shepherd.

What the bishop is doing is very good. But if there is a pattern of this kind of thing at this college, with no intent by the college to fix things, the diocese has a responsibility to publicly disaffiliate the college from identification as Catholic. The diocese can’t force the college to stop using that term, especially if it uses deceptive language - “in the Catholic tradition”, or heritage, or similar. But the diocese can proactively communicate to the public the reality that this is not a Catholic institution.

*remove any listing from diocesan directory that this is a Catholic institution;
(in my diocese, highly secularized institutions are still misleadingly listed as Catholic)
  • get this college out of the diocese’ Wikipedia entry
  • make sure the diocesan newspaper, high schools, and other departments don’t fall back in the familiar pattern of referring to this as a Catholic school, publicizing open houses, whatever; avoid workshops, etc, on that campus
  • Communicate to the board of trustees, and to the alumni association that the diocese does not regard this as a Catholic institution.
People argue that a diocese should keep communication open, it’s better to have some influence than no influence, that this college is more Catholic than the University of Wisconsin. My own diocese has condoned for over 40 years. This results in alumni giving, and parents encouraging their kids, to very expensive colleges they think are still Catholic, which they no longer are. At least in a public college Catholics know they are in a pro-secular environment. In a (fake) Catholic college they are also in a pro-secular environment, but sometimes presenting as Catholic. A mostly secularized “Catholic” college can do more damage than a totally secularized public one.
