I wonder if Catholic institutions might be able to require patients to sign consent forms stipulating that they will receive care from a pre-approved list of physicians?

This might buy time, and save lives while efforts build to move beyond the nihilism which pervades so much of our culture.
 
Surely the home shouldn’t have the monopoly. Couldn’t a resident buy in “euthanasia services” from elsewhere - IF they wanted?

In any case why don’t we hear about palliative care any more?

If the staff of the home are acting for the resident’s relatives by agreement with the relative, then they are standing up for the resident’s wishes and shouldn’t be stopped.

Hi Vic Taltrees UK,
Palliative care is so important, hopefully it is strongly emphasized in Belgium.
In regard to the possibility of resident agreements with relatives to support euthenasia, perhaps it would be a good idea for Catholic institutions to ensure that such agreements were not attached to those they cared for by means of obtaining an affadavit ensureing that Catholic princiiples would be upheld in end of life care.
