i am looking to make a few CD’s for the ride to work and such and would like to ask for recommendations…

i am looking for opera/symphony/church songs (i don’t know how to describe)… something that will make me feel like i am in church 🙂

as well as

catholic Christian rock music that will lift me and give me some good instrumentals and uplifting

any other music recommendations are welcomed!

Matt Maher has some very good songs (90% of them). Poirier is quite strong aswell

If you want to feel like you are in a Catholc Church, I’d recommend the Pope Macellus Mass by Pier Luigi di Palestrina. Stunning Renaissance polyphony. Gregorian chant also will do the trick. There is a popular CD of chant out by a group of Dominican sisters whose name escapes me at the moment. 😊

If your looking or something Christian, but not Catholic, I’ll admit to the guilty pleasure of listening to the Christian rapper LeCrae (hey I was in high school in the 90’s). I also enjoy listening to the Christian band Third Day. Of course, these styles (rap & rock) of music should never be heard in Church during Mass, so that may DQ them if you want to feel like you are in Church.

God bless.

I, personally, am a fan of Audrey Assad – especially her latest album, Fortunate Fall.

I’ll also second the Dominican Sisters of Mary suggestion.

I’m always looking for good Catholic artists. My favorites are Matt Maher, Sarah Hart, Audrey Assad and Francesca Battistelli. I like a lot of Danielle Rose’s music as well.
