[Former] Father Roberto Francisco Daniel resigned but continued to hold-out that he was’ speaking’ for the Holy Church. Ex-communication was a sad but sole-remainder option.

I must admit yahoo is not the most reliable news source when it comes to the catholic church. As I stated in a previous thread, yahoo is also infested with trolls who hijack all church related articles.
Still, it’s an interesting and relevant story that is worthy of our attention.

Also not surprising, as confirmed by the departure of many Latin American Catholics to religions which are much more accommodating to the secular mind-set.

Difficult a decision as I’m sure it is, the church is responsible for ensuring that wolves cannot cover themselves in the wool of the church in order to impersonate a fellow sheep.

Sadly, the Church hierarchy still seems strongly reluctant to tend to this responsibility.
I think we lay people need to do what we can to prod them?
Another “wolf” who has done great damage to the Church for decades, for promoting the homosexual lifestyle and rejecting other Church teachings, is retired bishop Thomas Gumbleton. He still celebrates “Dignity” Masses at a college in Detroit (for 11+ years now). He is a member of “Call to Action” and other dissident groups.
The archbishop knows it. Bishop Gumbleton should have been excommunicated long, long ago. Would Catholics be able to persuade Archbishop Vigneron to act by our letters and emails? I don’t know, but shouldn’t we try?
