A new booklet aims to explain the purpose and importance of the papal trip and the Church’s contributions to society for those who are only aware of “current controversies”.

The head of Catholics in England and Wales, The Most Rev Vincent Nichols, said that the four-day tour in September will be a “very significant moment” for the country particularly in straitened economic times.

The Churches contributions to society by far outweigh the scandals a small minority of its clergy have caused. We must continue to pray for all of our clergy that they will be given the courage and strength to fight there temptations.

It is good to help others to understand the good of the Church in society. I believe our Holy Fathers trip to England is an awesome endeavor and will bring many of the faithful back into the church.
