God does not trap you like that.hergratefulchild:![]()
I have a similar problem. Considering how some women are dressed, it is difficult for me not to commit the mortal sin of adultery by looking at a woman with lust. Matthew 5:28. My understanding is that it is wrong to receive communion while in mortal sin?A good friend of mine doesn’t receive communion at mass
Merely seeing a woman inappropriately dressed is not sinful, and I seriously doubt you automatically intentionally entertain lustful thoughts when all that probably happened was that you instinctively found the woman attractive, a far cry from “lust.” Only when you can admit that you intentionally produced a pornographic film in your head involving that woman, and ran it intentionally through the end credits should you come back and then we can talk mortal sin. Otherwise, if you just dismissed any thoughts as soon as you realized then, then simply refocus and carry on.
The proper concept or mortal sin is really escaping a lot of Catholics these days, and this also points to a very unhealthy and negative image of God. God does not trap people.
