Homosexuality is a disorder.
If one does not act on it, it need not be treated as a disease. One can live quite comfortably as a chaste, celibate homosexual and never step foot in a psychiatrist’s office. But we stray off topic.Homosexuality is a disorder.
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. If one does not act on it, it need not be treated as a disease. Regardless, they are not required to get treatment for their condition if they are not acting out.2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. May God truly bless you gentlemen who have shared the story of your burden. May God continue to strengthen you that you may remain faithful, and if it be His will, to lighten your burden.I would like to thank everyone for their positive responses and their prayers. I will pray for all of you. God Bless all of You.
I only have these words from St. Paul:To those sash fools who think the Church is irrevelant, please leave. If it is hopeless, why stay? We will not condone your filthy death style anymore than we condone any sin, so please stop trying to force our hand.

1 Corth 11: 21-30 said:21 For every one taketh before his own supper to eat. And one indeed is hungry and another is drunk. 22 What, have you not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the church of God; and put them to shame that have not? What shall I say to you? Do I praise you? In this I praise you not. 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread. 24 And giving thanks, broke, and said: Take ye, and eat: this is my body, which shall be delivered for you: this do for the commemoration of me. 25 In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me.
26 For as often as you shall eat this bread, and drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come. 27 Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord. 30 Therefore are there many infirm and weak among you, and many sleep.

I attended Mass this Pentecost Sunday several hundred miles from home (as my family and I were vacationing during Memorial Day weekend), and my wife noticed what she thought were several ‘gay’ men in the congregation. No demonstrations or sashes. But I did pray for them all - begging either God to grant them the grace to remain faithful if they are genuinely struggling to live in accordance with the Church’s teaching or for God to convict their hearts of their sin and lead them to repentance.

Quite true. To insist on anything else places an unfair burden upon young people who may be different from the majority but may not have same sex attractions. I wish to encourage those who have given this temptation over to God and are live a chaste life but I wish to distance myself from those who brag about their bad behavior and insist that it is not sin.:tsktsk: One cannot tell whether another is “gay”. No. One cannot ALWAYS tell whether or not another is “gay”. But certainly it can be somewhat determined some of the time. As in this case, when two men sitting in the pew immediately in front of us waves and motions a little “toodle-doo” to two men seated two pews behind and off to the left of us (two men by the way who were kneeling awfully close to one another in an otherwise empty pew), this along with their dress, their carriage and so forth, one could safely surmise as such. BUT, I was not condemning them… I was praying for them (and all those with SSA in general, as stated in my previous posting).:tsktsk: One cannot tell whether another is “gay”. By what authority do you suggest that sinners leave the Church? To those sash fools who think the Church is irrevelant, please leave.
Indeed, if we followed that suggestion we would all have to leave.By what authority do you suggest that sinners leave the Church?

And it’s not pastoral to confirm someone in their sin.Indeed, if we followed that suggestion we would all have to leave.
The GLTB community is one that talks about “love” but refuses to shut it’s mouth.Rainbow Sash Movement Organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender “Catholics” who “demand” that the Church change its teachings on homosexuality so that they can live out their lives of burning intrinsically disordered lust. (See Romans 1:26-27)
I have already proclaimed my celibacy for God but to tell me that homosexuality has nothing to do with love is also alittle unChristian. Same sex attraction in most cannot be changed and has to do with love alot more than lust. It’s just that it is a forbidden love under the current circumstances. Now if God were to come down tomorrow and say it was okay I would enter a homosexual relationship at the drop of a hat.The GLTB community is one that talks about “love” but refuses to shut it’s mouth.
That’s the vocabulary of the enemy, Satan.I have already proclaimed my celibacy for God but to tell me that homosexuality has nothing to do with love is also alittle unChristian. I prefer to call it an orientation because there is mounting evidence of prenatal hormonal disposition towards such, just like alcoholism. Doesn’t make the behavior right but might change the language of the Church a little. That’s the vocabulary of the enemy, Satan.
The Church calls it disordered, not an orientation. There is absolutely no scientific proof of “orientation” (which implies you believe you were born with a desire for the same gender).
