Oooh, wow…what a shock. Next thing you know, Notre Dame will be covering up crucifixes so pro-abortion speakers won’t feel bad…oh, wait.

Gee, how about, so there is NO confusion, all institutions (colleges, hospitals, etc.) that actually ARE NOT Catholic be stripped–very publicly–of any Catholic affiliation?

And it would be so nice if they would then change their names to reflect what they actually believe. I mean, if they aren’t Catholic, they wouldn’t want to be mistakenly thought to be so, right?

Notre Dame did not do this…Georgetown covered them up. If you don’t know what ND has done to rededicate themselves to Catholic identity (like completely fund a proliferation center right next to an abortion clinic in South Bend), then I suggest you keep mum.

Oooo, sorry–it WAS that other “Catholic” University that did that. Notre Dame “just” or “merely” honored abortion-loving Obama–my mistake.

As a devout Catholic, I sincerely hope that Notre Dame has changed its ways. It truly sickened me that a university named for the Mother of God could do such a thing.

As this senior at Notre Dame hopes, I hope: thecollegefix.com/post/13969/

The trouble with embracing evil is that when (if) you do stop, it takes awhile for folks to trust you again.

The question I have is if they really caved or if that was the plan all along.

I’m not surprised at all. “Catholic” universities such as Georgetown had exchanged their catholic identity for a false image of diversity . This is indeed a low blow to religious liberty. I hope and pray that the university reverses its decision.

Kudos to William Peter Blatty for demanding that the school adhere to its Catholic identity or be stripped of its Church affiliation.

Thanks for great link, Abyssinia!
I just wish they would drop the Catholic name. They are an affront to our faith.

I’m sorry, but how is this a surprise in this day and age?

Does anyone still believe Georgetown is Catholic? 🤷

I forget, was this before or after ND pressed charges against pro-life demonstrators who protested on campus against ND honoring Obama in spite of his horrific stances on life issues?

I think it would be more accurate to say that the battle for ND’s catholic identity isn’t lost yet and that there are some hopeful signs of improvement, not that it’s been won. Perhaps if compared to Purdue, ND has a magnificent catholic culture. It’s just too bad that one needs to grade on such a curve. ND campus culture is nothing like the schools recommended by the Cardinal Newman foundation. (Close friends have a daughter in school there who fills us in).
