**VATICAN CITY, FEB. 10, 2006 (Zenit.org).- A Catholic delegation will attend the 9th General Assembly of the World Council of Churches, to be held Feb. 14-23 in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Those are strong words about some of the member denominations. But the purpose of the organization itself is to promote Christian unity, which is a laudable goal and one of interest to our Church.

So it makes sense to stay informed, and to informally voice our opinions (so the WCC doesn’t stray too far afield), at this gathering.

The WCC is really all about the dumbing-down of doctrine to achieve unity. Strong words? Maybe, but true words.
I formerly belonged to one of the member deominations, and my denomination promoted Matthew Fox’s sacrilegious new age theology, held conferences where the “womyn” attendees worshiped the Goddess Sophia, yada yada yada, you name it, they did it.
