False. That is 100% untrue. We do NOT believe that the Pope is God.
Thats great to hear you dont have to attend mass every sunday, a day of obligation…since they dont have god powers to create a mortal sin by you or others missing going to mass…also
thats a relief for catholics coming up with some duzzie excuses to justify not attending, and not committing a mortal sin…👍

Its part of there history …are they going to deny it… come on you cant be serious… 🤷
So what?? You commit a serious logical fallacy by asserting that Roman Catholics believe that the pope is God because some popes stated that 1000 years ago.

Don’t be stupid. Just because the Pope isn’t God, doesn’t mean that he and the Church are without authority. Remember, a vicar is given authority in dealing for his master in the master’s name. Christ said he who hears you hears me and whoever rejects you rejects me and the one who sent me (Luke 10:16) and also whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18).

Your list impresses no one. Roman Catholics do not believe that the pope is God nor does Benedict XVI teach that he is God. Your quotes may implicate those person of blasphemy but you can hardly attribute those charges to modern Roman Catholics.
You can’t even attribute those charges to Catholics in other eras either.

And first let us have him prove that said Popes actually said such things.

Yes, and I would like to see the specific references to those documents myself.
Many are just attributed to a Pope without reference to any source. One is even attributed to a “famous Benedictine canonist” - how wonderfully vague. Others are given a reference to some non-firsthand source - often with very vague citations.

I’m still wondering what site rad cut and pasted these from. I also wonder if he could link to the original sources.

Were those popes excomunicated for saying these things .I haven’t read anything about it or found anything on it …it must be still in there books…

The popes mentioned seem to be speaking with great authority and their power of infallibility…🤷 😛

Again, you haven’t proven that they have said such things.

Non sequitor…you can’t just assume that catholics believe that because you can’t find it “in the books”. Just ask catholics what they believe and they’ll tell you. You don’t have to create a straw man to pounce on.

im not :familiar: with this site…🤷
The text is identical with your posts. If you did not copy from this site then where are you copying from so that others may read your sources?

Confession…for forgiveness and to bind a sin is not to create a sin …love and worship is given freely to God with free will, not with a threat of a mortal sin i would assume …🤷

Just like in the islamic threads ,when the bad side of islam is proven and brought to light through the quran and the hadiths ,muslims will deny it…
Is this whats happening here about catholicisim…also
try the vatican archives all the popes are listed by name in the posts i posted…
cant be that hard to look up…🤷 :😉

What about these saints that also said this ,they must of read about the popes that said this and are quoting them 🤷 …Saint John Bosco said:

Quote
The Pope is “God on earth” … “Jesus has placed the pope higher than the prophets, than John the Baptist, and than all the angels” … “Jesus has put the Pope on the same level as God Himself!”
  • Meditazioni, Vol. 1: 2nd ed., pp. 89-90.
Calling the Pope “God” is also popular with the Saints. Catherine of Siena is famous for calling the Pope “our sweet Christ on earth.” This phrase is very well known and very often repeated in Roman circles. Catherine also said:

Quote
"‘He who will be disobedient to Christ on earth, who stands in the stead of Christ in heaven, will not share in the fruit of the blood of the Son of God.’ ‘Even if he [the Pope] were an incarnate devil we ought not to raise up our heads against him, but calmly lie down to rest on his bosom.’

We asked you for your website source - how many times now, and you won’t provide it. That’s not very honest of you.

You just make wild claims with very questionable citations and just expect us to blindly take your word on it that these are accurate. Sorry, but it ain’t gonna happen - please, rovide some support of accuracy for your sources.
