Does the Church allow for these kind of chaste partnerships between two men or two women? Or does the Church say that it would be too torturous for the people involved because of the near occasion of sin? (Thanks for any responses to this question by the way- and Thanks Tlimon for your insights.)

I am not sure that we can create a sexless equivalent to marriage - at least in the ordinary sense. I do strongly feel that there is other forms that a same-sex relationship can take *in lieu *of said marriage. Read this essay - it’s fairly short.
