joe.
Are you trying to say that as a progressive young Catholic, you believe that Catholics need to walk in union with the world, with a qualification that love, support and mercy to homosexuals means accepting that the homosexual act is not sinful?…
Many of you will use this to support your argument evil homosexuals i.e. evil acts. Well i look to these words and i state the obvious that we all walk the same road but which gate we go for is a choice of morals. And many of you i look upon as having a wide gate path as the above does state “the wide gate and road that leads there is easy” well what is easier to say EVIL HOMOSEXUALS AND THE ACTS THEY COMMIT ARE EVIL or LOVE AND MERCY AND SUPPORT OF CATHOLICS AND CHRISTIANS TO HOMOSEXUALS??
It very much easier to hate but a lot harder to love the sinner ?!
Please be a progressive catholic and help the church walk in union with the world and the vuneralbe.
GOD BLESS JOE:thumbsup:
There are Catholic homosexuals who ardently wish for this to happen. But as Peter Kreeft posed to Catholic homosexuals: what is your religion, Catholicism or homosexuality? You can listen to his talk here. One poster here aptly stated that to be Catholic and an active homosexual is a contradiction in terms.
It has been clearly stated by Catholics in this type of threads that homosexuals are not regarded as evil, to be hated. They are to be loved, included in Christ’s commandment of love of neighbor. It is the ACT, the BEHAVIOR, that is a sin, against Church teaching, not to be tolerated or accepted.
Some Catholics insist on defending homosexuals in monogamous loving relationships, making a difference with those engaging in promiscuous homosexual sex. They want to see a parallel to faithful married sex versus adultery. Homosexuals faithful to their partners have good intentions, but the homosexual act that they engage in is nevertheless wrong and sinful. As with euthanasia, which is based on merciful and loving intention for a loved one, the act is still intrinsically wrong.
It was good to hear last Sunday’s homily on the holy family during Mass in our parish. Even the televised EWTN Mass had a similar homily, with prayers offered for the preservation of the family and the healing of those who suffer from same sex attraction.
