"Catholic Mass Revealed" - has anyone heard about this?

Wondering what this is and if anyone has heard about it? Is it a movie? What is the group that is producing it “Thy Kingdom Come”?

Looks cool, but I’m always skeptical until I know the whole story.

I must say it does look interesting. It seems to be Novus Ordo oriented, not that that is bad. It looks very slick. An expensive production.

It looks Hollywood-like. It uses the right words and seems to be approaching the subject with respect. Like you, I am both curious and skeptical. It is just too slick.

How did you find out about it?
 
I was talking to a friend today and she was on a Catholic site (not sure which one) and saw a banner ad for it. She clicked on it, and saw the trailer.

I’ve since found the website of the apostolate: www.tkc.net it looks just as polished and slick. I think they bear watching though! I will definitely be keeping an eye on them, and I’ve added myself to their mailing list.

I’m optimistic. The site looks genuine and it appears as though huge effort has been put forth.

What a wonderful idea. So many Catholics are so unaware of what the Mass is all about. Something like this has the potential to have a huge effect.
 
I certainly do hope so - but one never knows, and it’s so very easy to “appear” authentically Catholic and be nothing of the sort. Take the folks who think they have their own Pope for example! :eek: Not saying this organization is anything like that, just saying the jury is out until I see the full production - that’s all. 🙂

But I do agree with you totally - it is something that is absolutely needed and would be very much welcome if the teaching is sound.

It looks legit (and pretty cool!). I searched out the domain name registration and it looks like it is registered to someone who is also a “director” of Catholic World Youth Network. . . (first time I’ve heard of them). Anyway, that is run by the Legionaries of Christ. (Pinecrest Academy, a school run by the LC is also in Cummings, Georgia. . . where your tkc.net site is registered.)

How’s that for a bit of detective work?

Let’s keep an eye on it and see what develops. 👍

Catholic World Youth Network has some wonderful programs.
 
I am a little confused because although the trailer for the production looks beautiful, we don’t know who Thy Kingdom Come,Inc is. I have found this link and several like it which all point to a rapture type preacher. This could be a trap.

The rapture has no signs which must precede it. It can come at any moment since it will occur before the tribulation! However, what I would call “event-time” has been shortened in our generation. Due to the advance of technology, the time-interval between events has collapsed, causing world events to occur rapidly. It used to take these same events, such as the rise and fall of nations, travel across continents, or the formation of political and economic unions, months and years to materialize. Today, these things happen overnight! This means that the end-time events could happen within the span of the calendar hanging on your wall. “And what I say unto you I say unto all, watch” (Mark 13:3). I fail to see any connection between the two. I can see why you are confused. I don’t believe there to be a connection. The sites don’t resemble each other and don’t even discuss the same topic. :confused:

Well, I looked at this site and it certainly looks good. There is not much there, it looks like a new start up. I especially liked their “Mission” page which stated they desire to always remain faithful to the Magisterium. No equivocation and no double-talk.

This is backed up by the links on their site which are to faithful and sites. They seem good. I am a little less skeptical now.

Lizaanne, please keep us up to date if you hear more.

OK thanks Marsha! I was looking at the name Thy Kingdom Come, INC. which is very protestant…if you click on the site from my previous post you will see they too use the name Thy Kingdom Come…ony with inc… Thanks for finding the correct link!

Wow! This would be great! Thanks for the link!

I sent them an email asking them whether this is to come out in theaters or is this a cable TV project or a DVD only project?

The website doesn’t say anything about where this is playing or even if it is playing at major theaters or just select theaters.

One has to wonder as Catholic films like this don’t exist. 😦

I have an email draft set up for a lot of people on my email list, Catholic and non-Catholic friends. So I hope this is accurate and that it IS in theaters. I won’t send it out until I know for sure one way or another.

If anyone here knows let us know okay. 🙂 If I find out I will let you know. I’ll wait by my email inbox… fingers strumming on my desk while I wait. :whistle:

Thank you for your questions regarding the project. “The Catholic Mass…Revealed!” is a project that contains many elements.

The best way to describe the project is that it is a step by step explanation of the beautiful gift of the Catholic Mass. The project contains 30+ chapters. We have created a DVD, a Soundtrack, an Audio Commentary CD and a full color Booklet. All of the material is completely faithful to the teachings of the church. The booklet has received an Imprimatur from Archbishop Wilton Daniel Gregory in Atlanta, GA. The language we have chosen to use is very accessible, not overly doctrinal or theological. It is very rich in content, but also very easy to understand.

Our plans are to release the project directly to the public. We expect the release to be in early February, 2007, in preparation for the Lenten season.

We Thank you for your visits to the site and for your hope in the project. We too are hopeful that Christ will bless this work and create a miracle, like the multiplication of the loaves so that Catholics are renewed in their love for the Mass and those who are seeking God’s plan will be moved to search for him with a better understanding of the Catholic faith.

Continue to check Catholicmass.org as the new website will be launched in conjunction with the release of the project.

Will these step by step explanations be followed by Scripture passages? It is very important that our seperated brethren be informed Scripturally as that is the only language they want to understand.

Either way, I look forward to this. I sent the link to the trailer to many of my Catholic and non-Catholic friends and family. I want to spread the good news to as many people as possible.

In answer to your question regarding scripture, each chapter in the project has many scriptural references. As well we utilize the Catechism of the Catholic Church, along with quotations from a variety of saints such as St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Ambrose. All of these components are combined into a seamless commentary that explains what is taking place in that moment of the mass. This commentary is supported and enhanced by the visuals of the moment in the mass along with beautiful imagery to complement each chapter. We also work to help the viewer/listener to develop a sense of what God is calling them to consider in this moment of the Mass.
